Anyone know anything about the two rides that Sammy has for this weekend and the Finals? Not familiar with either who were some recent drivers of those cars?

don't know about the 360 car for Texas but the 410 ride is a team from upstate n.y near Buffalo they have a good 360 operation and are trying to learn more and improve their 410 operation

Sammy can still get it done. You also have a great set up man to help a team get going.I am well over 70 and still race some but affter around 60 things in my case I have lost something you cant recover is youth. I know a car owner that Sammy drove for to and they were surprized how many companies were wiilling to help.Still puts fans in the seats weather cherring or not and thats what promotors like.

If we could only put you in a car next to Sammy.  Then we could watch a 64 year old skilled racer whup your sorry ass!  There have been many and still are drivers on the various circuits that I do not root for, but one thing I give them is the respect they have earned doing something very expensive and dangerous.

I have been on a track with Sammy, and his old Milwaukee right rear took out my front axle on a slide job that he didn't have a chance in hell of clearing me and put me right into the guardrail.  Ask him some time skippy. That little wall stuffer broke my right foot and I was bruised up for 6 weeks.  Bad feeling, not at all. He ever hits wall that hard he won't be  climbing out. Then all you keyboard jockies will talk about nothing you know about.

Well, I guess if you are sharing your experience with Sammy on the track, it must be true.  I guess because the reference is so long ago, we will never be able to know if it really did happen.  And if it did happen, I'm sure your account of the incident is exactly the way it happened.

I would think if you were a driver, you would have developed a little more respect for the other drivers out on the track, but that doesn't seem to have happened.  You, more than the casual fan should have a little more respect for someone that carries a resume such as Sammy.  If you were a driver, I would bet your resume looks a little different then his.  Perhaps slightly shorter in length with a few less signature wins.

If you are as old as you portray with your encounter with Sammy, I'm curious your win total and when you hung up the helmet?  Sammy's helmet is still being used and he is still competitve with throwing in an occasional win at 64.  Yes, 64!!!  I believe he snared a 5th place showing at an outlaw show this year.  By the way, how many outlaw A main shows have you made?

You would also think that if you are in the age of range of Sammy, you would also realize what it takes to wheel one of these cars as you get older and maybe show a little respect with that knowledge.  Keyboard jockey?  No, just someone who admires the sport in it's totallity and gives credit where it is due.  I would rather build up the sport then tear it down.

I've never driven a lap in a sprint car but I do know that Sammy walked away from one of the ugliest crashes you'll ever see anywhere on the frontstretch at Knoxville a couple of years ago. He's doing more than posting on a forum about when he used to race. He's still out there doing it and he's still pretty damn competitive.

He still kicks ass in 360s & occasionally in 410s (won an Allstar race a couple of years ago) I'd love to see him kick ass in Charlotte too

I believe people who say he's no "Mr. Nice Guy" on the track, tho.....

The Hoddick team if I;m not mistaken has often had a caroussel of 410 guys racing in 1 of shows with them. Craig Dollansky did a few shows with them a few years back, Doug Esh ran a  few races with them. It;s usually shows in Oshweken or the New York area, They have a pretty good 360 program.

I remember that car running at Port a couple of years ago. I seem to remember the 360 running during the Weikert Memorial.

#49, right?

Correct. Dollanksy brought it to PA a few years ago when the National Open got rescheduled and he ran that race along with the Port Royal Outlaw show. That was in a 410 that is. Esh ran it in Canada and I believe for a few URC shows in the 360. I know a few other guys have taken turns in that car as well.

Hoddick cars driven by Scott Kreutter and Matt Farnham finished one/two in the Canadian Nationals this year. Beating the likes of Parker Price-Miller and Sam Hafertepe Jr. This is a 360 race.

I'm guessing thats the same car he won Allstar race with a couple of years ago at Middletown? He also won a year earlier at Lebanon Valley (Steve Kinser's last race)

I think both of those wins were still in the Big Game Tree #1, but I could be wrong.  The car he drove in NY other than the #1 was the #35 owned by Jared Zimbardi.  T
