Was thinking of going to Baps sat, I haven't seen any drivers saying they are going. I did see DD and LD not going. Was wondering if anyone on here might have heard who might be there. Hate to make long trip for short field. THANKS

There should be a decent field even with out LD & DD....Monteith, Zearfoss R Smith Macri and Wolfe should all be there. Maybe a few surprises since they are the only track in Central Pa running. The weather will be nice as well for a fall race.

According to dietrichs twitter page he will not be there. I'm curious as to what kind of field they have too. Does this race have a better than normal payout due to the increased admission prices? Might have to flip a coin for this one.

Will probably be about 20 410s and 20-25 360s which is fine after all the big money shows that just passed.

Wolfe, Zearfoss, Smith, Monteith, Macri, Michalski, Norris, Billy Dietrich

as well as probably..

Rahmer (no other races going on, can't see them taking the weekend off but could be wrong)

and all of these guys I would say more than likely 75% or more of them will be there

Kendall, Grasso (almost always at the BAPS races, only question is whether he will be in the 360 instead), Moody, Dietz, Starks, Esh, Cisney, Stutts, Campbell, Fiore, Halligan

Plus there are a bunch of other drivers who have made random starts at BAPS over the seasons such as Bower, Wagaman, Glatfelter, Shearer, Shetler, etc. Wouldn't be surprised if G-Mac was there, he didn't race last weekend and has won races at BAPS both of the last two seasons. Wagner and Flick have been running some shows outside of Port over the late part of this season and wouldn't be surprised if they were there either. I'm confident that the field will be more than sufficient.

Brock and Wolfe are doing double duty from what I saw, have not heard anything about Mark Smith, or Freddie Rahmer who have both also done double duty this year at times.

This is a show that I'd like to go to if they can manage to pull a decent field. I kinda figured a lot of teams may stay away due to the rough track conditions last time. With it being the only show in town, one would think they'd pull a good field but then again, we're at the end of a long season so you never know what you're gonna get. The weather looks like it's going to be very good so that should help.

Maybe it is me.....but I try and support BAPS every chance I get when they run the 410's.....They deserve it after all the investments they have made into the facilities......

The weather is going to be good. They are running 410s and 360s while no one else is. They try to give the people what they want and yet I read about apprehensions? So what if DD has his panties in a bunch because he is the ONLY car to get upside down on a heavy track. No one else did. Last race was the first time in a while that you could see the whole track because it wasn't a dust storm. If the teams piss and moan because of a rough track then maybe they really aren't there to race. It can't always be glass like Port Royal or one lane like WG. The 48 and 69 sadly have fallen for the I only wanna run TT shows trap hoping to start up front all of the time. I love Susky since most events you never know where you'll be since it's pill draw and the double file restarts also promote RACING. Isn't that what we pay money to see?? The field will be good and so will the racing. I sure hope there is some moisture in the track again so I can see the whole track. I am a DD fan but after his twitter drivel about the last event there I'm having trouble. He played the non fan friendly TT format perfectly to earn the pole for the A. Didn't even try in the heat as his time got him in the dash if he rode around to finish 6th in the heat. Stepped on his you know what at the start the proceeded to fall back more then rolled on his side all on his own. Then cry he wanted Todd Fisher back? Please. The group in charge have done wonders for the place and the track provides good racing. So I hope the stands are packed and the teams that run give a great show. For the teams that stay home, oh well. For the fans that stay home, I hope ur not the same people whining the off season is too long. There are only a few shows left let's support what we've got before there isn't anymore to support.

I agree 100% with everything you said. DD already turned me off long ago so his tirade about BAPS didn't move my needle one bit. Typically, if he has a bad night, he'll find some fault with the track. Nothing new there. When he said he wanted Todd Fisher back, I literally laughed out loud. That place was an absolute dump in every way imaginable when Fisher owned it. Anyone who would rather have it the way it was then instead of the way it is now has serious mental issues. The facelift they gave to that place in such a short amount of time was unbelievable. They don't get the credit that they deserve. I was on the fence but reading your post inspired me to go. The field may be missing a few heavy hitters but there should be enough good cars to put on a show.

What a post.....you are spot on with your thoughts. I am also a fan of DD, but everything you said is absolutely true. If these promotors can't count on fan support, why even invest back into the facilities? It is a beautiful fall day with a 5pm start. Get out and support one of the few races left in the 2019 season.

Jesus. He didnt "step on his you know what" the track was so rough it knocked his glasses off. You not saying a single word about Macri or Brown saying the track was really rough on Twitter is laughable. I miss when susky got black and slick and not usually just around the top. Albeit the surface at the All Star race was good.

So, did they end up calling off the races because the track was too rough, or did other drivers figure out how to race it?

Actually he did step on it. He knew what type track it was and he is a pro. A pro would have made sure he was ready and had a way to secure his glasses. How would Brown know how rough it was?? He never turned a lap. The biggest rig in the pits and no back up?? That guy is overrated at best. Macri stated his case, so what he still ran. The laughable part is DD. If he was unhappy with how the nite turned out, that's one thing. What's laughable is he was still the ONLY one to roll over and I believe his glasses were back on when that happened. To say he wants Fisher back is laughable. The racing that nite was different from the norm but good nonetheless. Btw I believe after a poor qualifying run Zearfoss figured out on this "horrible" track how to pass many cars and stated it was the same for everybody when asked about it after the race.

The racing at Susky today was good with plenty of cars and fans. Those that stayed away its their loss. See ya on the 16th of November for the final showdown.

The other drivers adapted accordingly to the conditions. He made a mistake. Was the track rough? Yes it was but it wasn't any rougher for him than it was for anyone else. Just like when a track is slick, if you drive it in too hard and slide up into the fence, you made a mistake just like hitting a rut too hard. It's dirt track racing. Adapting to different types of surfaces is part of the gig. They cannot and will not all be the same. Sometimes they're too dry, sometimes they're too wet and sometimes they're just right. Sometimes they're smooth as a pool table, sometimes they're like driving on the surface of the moon. There wasn't a classier driver than Greg Hodnett. No matter what happened, he didn't make excuses or point fingers. I can't even begin to estimate how many times he said "it's the same for everybody" after winning on a challenging surface. Damn I miss him.

Nice weather, decent fields of cars.  I swear that susky may have the best racing surface at times, heck the heat races were even good, I think the double file restarts helped. The features kinda looked ok from what I could see through the billowing dust. I wonder if I could get a partial refund since I could only half the track.  I don't care about the upgrades at susky, its nothing more  than lipstick on a pig. As a fan I like to see racing, not orange clouds of dust or the mega flag stand that obstructs my view of half the track. The newer bleachers are ok but still to close together, maybe they should take some time during the week to hose down their aluminum bleachers they probably haven't been washed all year, if I wanted to get new fans interested in racing susky is not a place I would take them. Its still the same ole dusty crap hole.

Agreed. There was good racing in every single qualifying event and both features. Lots of passing and back and forth trading of positions. What more can you ask for?
