Recording Artist Trey Rose to Kick Off $31,500 Paul Peters Memorial Saturday October 12th at 82 Speedway Featuring Sprint Car Bandits, TOMS, Ltd Mods & Factory Stocks!

Petty, TX (10/03/19) Event Marketing & Publicity by DarinShort.com. Long-time North Texas dirt track racecar owner Paul “Patsy” Peters passed away on July 9th, 2019. He was the father of 82 Speedway’s track owner, Tracy Peters. In honor of his life that was ingrained in the dirt track racing community of this region, Tracy is putting on a massive event on October 12th at 82 Speedway at 6pm, the $31,500 Paul Peters Memorial – featuring the 360 C.I. Sprint Car Bandits® (SCB) series, the TOMS - Touring Outlaw Modified Series (TOMS) with added purse from 82 Speedway, plus a whopping $2,000 to win in the Hoyte Dodge Chrysler Jeep of Sherman Texas Factory Stocks and $1,200 to win in the TRC Team Richardson Chassis Limited Modifieds. Paul’s 71st birthday would have also been on October 12th – thus the selection of this date for the event. Again, please note the early start time of 6pm. See below for details.

And today, we’re pleased to announce that Trey Rose, contestant on NBC’s The Voice earlier this year, will be on hand during Sprint Car Bandits pre-race Fan Fest from 5:30-6pm signing autographs and meeting fans, and then singing the national anthem live in front of the crowd during opening ceremonies. Visit and interact with Trey at www.facebook.com/TreyRoseMusic and while you’re there you can also listen to some of his great tracks and watch YouTube videos from his The Voice appearances. If you happen to visit his Facebook page, make sure to mention you’re looking forward to him coming to 82 Speedway!

We would like to take a moment to thank Paul Peters Motor Sports for adding money to the Factory Stock purse – for the first 15 finishers, which has allowed us to up their purse from $1,200 to $2,000 to win. We would also like to thank Texoma Dent Specialists for adding money to the Factory Stock purse. If your business would like to become involved in this great event, please email Darin at [email protected] – and you’ll get a quick response, and we’ll go from there.

The beautiful ¼ mile dirt oval of 82 Speedway is located about 15 minutes west of Paris, directly on Hwy 82 in Petty Texas.

Fans can expect a full field of many of the region's best dirt track racers to be on hand on this very special night. Paul was known to have a big personality and an even bigger presence, so it’s only fitting to have an event of this magnitude in his honor. Paul was heavily involved throughout the years with several drivers in several divisions, and this huge event will help to celebrate the memory of his life in racing.

NOTE EARLY START TIMES! The pit area on Saturday October 12th will open by 2pm, with the spectator grandstands opening by 5pm. Sprint Pit Meeting/Cutoff 5:15pm, TOMS Pit Meeting/Cutoff 5:15, '82 Divisions Draw Cutoff & Pit Meeting 5:30, Sprint Car Bandits Fan Fest with Trey Rose (behind grandstand) 5:30-6pm,Track Packing/Hot Laps 6:00; then we’ll go right into the racing program. Adult GA $20, Kids 6-11 $5, Seniors $15. Pit Passes $35 (Pits Ages 5 & Under $15). Outside food/drink coolers (around the size of a 12-pack) are allowed in for $5 but cannot contain glass, and beer is OK if the person is at least 21 years of age. Coolers should not take up grandstand seating if the crowd size dictates. Transponders & RaceCeivers required in all divisions (nightly track rental of transponders available for $15 plus ID).

If you’ve yet to visit 82 Speedway, it is much closer to DFW than a lot of people think and is NOT the old Paris Speedway southeast of Paris. As a point of reference, including a quick fuel stop, you can get from the intersection of Bass Pro Shops/I-30/Bush in Garland to 82 Speedway in 80 minutes.

TRACK DIRECTIONS: Track is located about 1 mile east of Petty Texas right on Hwy 82, which is about 20 minutes east of Bonham and 15 minutes west of Paris. 16369 US Hwy 82 Petty, TX 75470. Go to www.82speedway.com or www.Facebook.com/82Speedway for track details.

82 Speedway features a 60’ racing surface that is .26 miles on the pole (1/4 mile) in distance, and the groove is right at 1/3 mile. There are no walls around the entire track – with lots of runoff space wherever you’re racing, which leads to less tore up equipment. Over-sized grandstands that each have unobstructed viewing from whatever spot you choose to view from. Huge spectator and pit parking areas will greet everyone on their arrival. Track owners, Shelley and Tracy Peters who are some of the nicest people you’ll ever come across, and they have been reinvesting in the permanent structure of the facility since they purchased it last year. Bottom line, if you haven’t been there, here’s your chance on Saturday, October 12th!

Here’s the October 12th purse structure for the SCB “Paul Peters Memorial 25” presented by www.FixYourGenerator.com feature: $2,000 – 1,000 – 600 – 500 – 400 – 390 – 380 – 370 – 360 – 350 – 340 – 330 – 320 – 310 – 300…to start. All non-qualifiers or non-starters will each receive $100. There is no entry fee, no series membership fee and a $20 nightly draw fee. Drivers should go to www.SprintCarBandits.com prior to arrival for complete rules and procedures information…which will all be in effect. The www.KoolTrikes.com heat races will set up the feature lineups, and the top-points driver will be awarded $100 from www.FixYourGenerator.com for starting on the pole. Dalton Stevens was the last top-points driver on September 28th.

The TOMS Modified feature payback is as follows: $2,000 – 1,000 - 750 - 650 - 550 – 475 - 400 - 350 – 250 - 225...to start! $50 to any NQ or non-starter. Seewww.TouringMods.com for rules, details and much more.

The Limited Modifieds and Factory Stocks are each racing for the exact same purse. Here’s the feature race payback for each: $1,200 - 700 - 500 - 400 - 300 - 200 - 150 - 125 - 100...to start! No entry fee. Just buy your pit passes. See 82Speedway.com for all division rules. Transponders & RaceCeivers required in all divisions (track rental is available). Non-qualifiers or non-starters that are registered with 82 Speedway for the 2019 racing season will receive $30 each in both divisions. If a driver chooses to compete in more than one division on the same night, the driver must purchase an additional pit pass per division entered.

If the races rain out before the completion of the heat races, hold on to your ticket stub, as it will be valid for the next scheduled race of same ticket price value (in other words, if tickets that night were $15, the next event you will have a $15 credit when you redeem your ticket stub from the previous event). The exact same procedure will be in effect regarding pit passes. If the races rain out after the heat races, the event is considered complete, and any remaining races will not be rescheduled and all drivers will receive start money for their scheduled division that night (for any of the feature events that rained out). There will be no grandstand tickets valid for a future date if races are rained out after the completion of heat races.

Note to drivers: all race teams must run Westhold transponders and RaceCeivers. Track rental is available.

Please make plans to join us for the $31,500 Paul Peters Memorial at 82 Speedway in Petty Texas on Saturday October 12th at 6pm for a huge night of racing – all in remembrance of the track owner’s father, Paul Peters. FRIDAY MORNING TRACK REPORT: Luckily the track didn't receive near the precip that was predicted overnight. So everything is still on 'track' for tomorrow's big event!

Time stamps are showing on these pics so there won’t be any conspiracy theorists out there wondering when the pics were took.

These were taken after the storm system cleared area. Maybe 1/4” tops, enough to not have to water track this morning.
