Josh Schneiderman – Heat Waves & Wicked Cushions

Dallas, TX (July 17, 2019) – Josh Schneiderman and the Deuce Motorsports team competed in three A-mains last weekend. They walked away with a 12th at Lee County Speedway with the Sprint Invaders and a pair of 18th-placed finishes at Knoxville Raceway in what proved to be a hot and frustrating weekend for “The Professor.” The team will have the World of Wheels/Land Pride #49 back in action this Saturday night at the Knoxville Raceway!

Josh and the Deuce Motorsports team got their weekend started early with the Sprint Invaders at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa. The early start got off to a bit of a sputter, as he would draw the absolute worst pill for his heat race lineup. “Well, we drew 50 out of 50 to start the night, so not the best way to get going,” said Josh. “It was a hot night, which is always hard when it comes to track prep, so we knew it was going to be a tough night.”

Rolling off on the outside of the fourth row in a stout heat, Schneiderman would work his way up enough to improve matters before the 25-lap main event. “We were able to go from 8th to fifth in our heat, which at least locked us into the main event without having to run the B,” said Josh. “The fields at Sprint Invaders shows have been solid this year and that makes it even more important to get a good pill draw, because that was one of the toughest heats I’ve been in with the Invaders.”

Finding himself on the eighth row of the A-main, “The Professor” would do his best to move his way up, but difficult track conditions made for a long night. “We were starting pretty deep in the feature and by that time the track had taken rubber, which made passing a bit tough,” said Schneiderman. “You had to wait for people to make a mistake to go for the pass and we ended up 12th with a car that felt capable of a better run.”

The team would continue to be on the wrong end of the pill draw at the beginning of Saturday night at Knoxville Raceway, going out late in qualifying. “We had another poor draw on Saturday,” said Josh. “However, we were able to lock down a pretty solid time against a good field of cars.”

Schneiderman’s time would place him on the outside pole for his heat race, where he’d also finish. “Our qualifying has been on the rise and that set us up with a good starting spot in our heat race,” said Josh. “The car was really good in the heat and we locked ourselves into the A-main with 35 cars at the track.”

Starting out 12th in the first feature of the night, Josh wasn’t happy with his performance. “We weren’t stellar in the first A-main,” said Schneiderman. “The cushion was wicked and the brakes faded, which caused us to fade to 18th. The car was solid, but the driver sucked; we should have finished better.”

While the Deuce team would have a second chance in the makeup feature at the end of the night, their night would end a tad early. “I was able to move into the top ten early in the makeup A-main after starting 12th again, but I caught the cushion wrong a few laps in and am shocked I was able to save it,” said Josh. “After that, I couldn’t get back in the groove and we ended up pulling off about ten laps in.”

Josh Schneiderman and the Deuce Motorsports team will be back at the Knoxville Raceway this Saturday night, as they continue to get their Land Pride/World of Wheels #49 tuned up for the fast approaching Knoxville Nationals!
