Now this is what a speedweek should look like about same amount of cars as Saturday but a completely different feel with all the outsiders.

Miss seening the 72 in the pits just glad Ryan is ok and hope he is back soon.

But everybody is up in arms that there are two shows at Lincoln, Port, and Williams Grove. So according to them, this show shouldn’t be happening.

As much as I’d like PA Speedweek to visit different tracks all week like Ohio it’s hard to argue for that after a show like last night. Heats weren’t anything crazy but there was a multi groove track with passing everywhere in the feature. Would have been really interesting if the yellow hadn’t come out with 4 cars battling right in front of Monteith and Eliason and J-MAC closing fast. Also what tracks are left in PA that could handle the crowd that was at Lincoln last night that don’t already have a race? They tried putting that many people in Path Valley in 2017 and there were a lot of pissed off people who paid for tickets and couldn’t even get a spot to stand where they could see the track.

Ohio is not far away for the people who like to bitch and missed the great action we saw last night.

Driving all over the state to tracks that do not have a sprint presence would not benefit any of the organizers or the teams who already invest a piss load of time to make speed week happen.

Open your eyes... .there are a shit load of alcoholics sitting around you in the stands that would be a danger to society if they were driving to unfamiliar places.

Nobody is stopping any of you bitchers from taking the week off.

Port 2716 ft/.51 mile T3=TBD
Grove 2792 ft/.53 mile T3=135MPH
Selinsgrove 2847 ft/.54 mile T1=136MPH

What a field, and very entertaining feature.  I was curious on number of wins in the field,  So thanks to BillV's site I looked it up, going back to 2015.

The drivers in the feature had a combined 340 feature wins

Drivers in the B-main (that did not qualify) had a combined 26 feature wins

29 of the 37 drivers on hand had a feature win.

Speedweeks races are a promoters dream with the mediocre purse and huge fan interest. As such, it makes sense that tracks that put the most into sprint car racing in the area would get more dates than some tracks that run once a year.

I always liked the speedweek shows at Big Diamond and Susquehannd and of course Silver Spring but that one's not an option anymore. I didn't like it at first but now I don't mind that the 410 tracks get 2 dates. Those tracks usually get the best turnouts of cars and fans. I'd still like to see more tracks that are < 1/2 mile.

Very true. It was good to see most of the tracks up the purse(or at least the winner's share) this year but given the support, they could surely do better. Saturday night shows should be at least 10G to win IMO. The Hodnett tribute at Port Saturday will have a gi-normous crowd.

Perhaps they could add a track or two and make it 11 events and still give the same amounts to the current tracks.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Agreed. I think all sppedweek shows should be 7k to win or more, with Lincoln, Port and the Grove paying 12k or more for their weekend shows. $5k to win speedweek shows have been around for 20 years or more.

I agree on the smaller tracks

Lincoln was a lot more entertaining for me than the 2 "Grove" races I attended

Bullrings are usually better racing, period....

Of course the presense of Larson, Bell & Rico helped too

OK, question: How do they line up the A Main, behind the cars that qualify for the draw?

Is it by heat race finish, or Time Trial results?

wouldn't mind seeing a speedweek race at Lernerville. nice track good seating and would draw people from ohio as well as the diehards from central pa.

I think some would be concerned about car count depending on the day of the week.

don't you think if it's a speedweek race that the cars from central pa would tow there for the race.

plus i would think you might draw some ohio cars because of the money. a nice 10 grand might draw some good competition.
