Agree it is a risk.....The so called experts on this board throw promotors under the bus all the time that they can run a race or track better....Why don't promotors use rain dates? How come they cancelled the races for tonight, the sun is out? Why did the race run so long? Why was the track so dusty?.....you get my drift. I give Wayne Co and the All Stars an A for effort. Now let's see if they are rewarded for thinking outside the box. I hope the fans support this move with a good crowd........

Jason and Kristen at WCS have done an amazing job turning that place around. They are determined to get 2 shows in this week. Wish them all the luck against another unfavorable forecast.

Total BS... I live in Columbus, get off work at 430, was going to go to Atomic, but not driving up to Wayne County(been there before) its 2 1/2 hours, I'd make it for the start of the heats if I am lucky... Total BS All Stars, stick your your schedule! Wayne was suppose to race Monday night, then were gonna race last night if Sharon couldn't, now they are taking Atomic's race. TOTAL BS! The race track isn't that good anyways, and the stands suck!

Hoping for the best for them. I shared the announcement on a couple facebook groups and have seen it shared already. The announcement states that the grounds at Atomic were too wet and the event was cancelled. So if the schedule was kept then there would be no racing at all today. I am happy that the All Stars are trying something different to get the drivers and the tracks an opportunity of getting a show in. With all the cancellation this year it has to be frustrating for everyone involved. Unfortunately I cannot attend today as dealing with rush hour around Columbus I would not be able to get their until after the heats. If the weather was good to Atomic I would have been able to go but at least the racers are able to get a race in. I am sure though that I will be cancelled out by a fan in the WCS region that was not able to attend Atomic but can attend today though. Its better than no race at all.

Now we will truely get to see how much social media can be used and help tracks spread the word about schedule changes. If this works then maybe it will be an example for tracks in the future to move up start times if there is threatening weather later in the day. A few times this year tracks have cancelled due to the threat of guranteed rain around 7-8pm. If this shows tracks they can flex their schedules more often then maybe a few more races can get off the ground and not be cancelled.

It's all about you right? Sounds like you'd be pretty miserable at any track.

With the forecast, you wouldn't have seen any racing tonight at Atomic.

For God's sake, give Wayne County, the All Stars, and Atomic credit for trying to give us (the fans and teams) more than just a 2-race Speedweek.

No promoter works harder than Brad at Atomic to get a show in, and this was to be one of thier biggest nights of the year. For Atomic to cancel, it has to be pretty bad.

So they shouldve just canceled tonight? Atomic deemed their facilities too saturated to host a race, if WCS didn’t pick up as the backup there still wouldn’t be a race as atomic tonight

my dad is camping across the road and said the grounds are too wet to park any cars thats why brad cancelled not because the track was to wet, im glad WC picked up the show.  Rumor is if lima cancels because the parking lot they may move the friday race to Atomic.  Dont blame them for trying to race since thats what they do for a living, but need to move the dates back to end of june/early july.

Of course its not all about me! But do you think I am the only one that is in the same boat(no pun intended). Bet your going and probably live up that way, me... No 2 1/2 hours away. If the shoe was on the other foot you would be irritated too

BTW, I have been to MANY tracks, Beaver Dam, Eldora, Knoxville, Terra Haute, Charlotte, Lawrencburg, Williams Grove, Lernerville, etc... I loved all those tracks.

That's a good point! Time of the year when we can't get any rain... Do racing would happen then.

I applaud them for trying. Going forward it would good to get these contingency plans set beforehand so more people will be able to plan. I would have thought running 2 shows on Saturday might have been preferable to running an unplanned show announced the day of but I hope for success.

To bad I am a SUCKER for good racing! Trying to talk my wife into going. Yes I am pissed about it, but still love good racing. Hot laps start at 5:45, Qualifying at 7... Maybe we can make it after all?

Look at their Facebook site. Atomic says they are trying to work something out for Saturday. I live in Dayton, and I had planned on Atomic tonight as well, but I also understand that we are all in water ten feet deep.

Friday is supposed to be dry, so maybe Atomic can dry out enough to race Saturday. Who knows.

Keep the faith - maybe we'll see some racing somewhere yet my friend!

Thanks - I see that now.

Limaland usually can't handle much rain, so maybe if they cancel (and I certainly don't know if they have or will), Atomic can tale their Speedweek date on Friday.

So you think Atomic cancelled just because? Like maybe they thought there were gonna make to much money tonight, and just said you know what, I wont have big enough pockets to carry it all to the bank in the morning, so we better cancel. Some people are unbelievable.

I'm holding out hope for Lima on Friday. I love watching sprint cars at that race but like you said they usually can't handle that much rain as a town in general. Typically if 3 drops of rain hit the track they cancel. Part of me just wants to go just to see if it still exists.

DollanskyFan,

Please stop being a dummy.

Here are the two outcomes for tonight:

1. No racing at Atomic, ASCoC has the night off

2. No racing at Atomic, ASCoC runs Wayne County

There's one constant here. They didn't cancel Atomic because they wanted to run WC. They canceled Atomic because they weren't going to be able to run Atomic.

A+ to the All Stars for this mindset. Hope you sell the joint out tonight.

They are expecting a ton of rain late this evening into tomorrow afternoon across pretty much the whole state. If Lima cant take much water wouldn’t be surprised to see that happen.

There is a silver lining, forecast for Friday and Saturday looking good now.
