Planning a trip out to PA for PA Speedweek. So question any highly recommended places to eat or even just places to check out while we are there?

Thanks

American history. You have to stop in Gettysburg

Food, look for Pennsylvania Dutch but I must say the track food in pa is pretty good.

When My family moved to PA when I was younger, when extended family or friends used to visit, we’d do Gettysburg, Amish in Lancaster and Hershey Park/Chocolate World.

i think those are still the go-to places in Central Pa.

Thanks for the replies so far.

I plan on being at Williams Grove on June 28th and Lincoln on the 29th with my new Stanton 75 shirts and hoodies.

I highly recommend the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing! It's just down the road from the Grove and on the way to Lincoln.

Gettysburg is a must, even if your not into history, it's an eye opener for sure!

Stop by if you see me at the track.

A couple years ago on the way to the Grove we stumbled upon Gettysburg,  stopped and enjoyed the entire day. Wish we had more time to check out more of it. Lancaster is beautiful imo. Both help understand your/my history. We skipped the Chocolate factory due to time and never knew about the Museum.

Maybe another time. PA is a very beautiful part of your country. Would have liked to stay another few days.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Eastern Museum of Motor Racing for sure!

Anyone know how Lynn Paxton is doing after his heart surgery?

Mamma's Pizza has locations near Williams Grove and Lincoln and they offer discounts for race fans on race day and awesome food. Lincoln has a mobile BBQ trailer with great pit beef sandwiches behind the gradnstand towards turn 4. Port Royal's concesions are also really good. Brock Zearfoss's dad owns Moose's LZ north of Harrisburg that is also great food. Not sure if you enjoy some cold adult beverages or not, but just a note that all the tracks besides Hagerstown are BYOB. No glass bottles or oversize coolers. Enjoy your time in PA and be sure to get to the tracks early when you can and talk to the people in the campgrounds.

Port Royal, the place to eat is Tyson Hill OIP. Selinsgrove has lots of great restaurants and most of the major chains out on the Rt.15 strip. My fave with a local flavor is BJ's Steak and Rib.

Knoebels amusement park is a great suggestion.    It is a very unique park.   You can enter for free and just buy tickets for the rides you want.   Or you can buy a wristband and ride all day.      You can even trade some paint on the bumper cars ride.    It is set in the woods and is shaded.    It is a great atmosphere and folks are generally friendly and in a good mood.

It is north of Selinsgrove so an hour or two from Lincoln/WG/BAPS.

Depends on what you like.... if you get tired of race track food, good Thai restaurant on Rt 15, about a mile or so south of WG exit, on the East side

If you like swimming , exercise or just outdoor relaxation, I go to PInchot State Park lake, about 30 minutes southeast of WG & maybe 15 minutes from Baps

EMMR is a must!

Great to hear! Thank you!

There's no better sprint car historian and ambassador of the sport - NONE!

Hopefully cynthia24 gets the Lynn Paxton personal tour!

I do this every year and 2019 is no exception . Our Speedweek is weak. Ohio has us covered. This is what the schedule should be. To you clowns that organize Speedweek...pay attention or you're fired.

SAT- Lincoln

SUN- Path Valley

MON- Off day or Trailway/Bedford

TUES- Grandview

WED-  Hagerstown

THUR- BAPS

FRI- Williams Grove

SAT- Port Royal

SUN- Selinsgrove.

This schedule is 100% doable and will put PA Speedweek back on the map. We the fans do not care about giving our "big 3" two races a piece.  The crowds will make up for it. LET ME SAY IT ONCE AGAIN TO YOU CLOWNS THAT RUN PA SPEEDWEEK. WE DO NOT LIKE WHAT YOU'RE DOING. MAKE A TRUE SPEEDWEEK SCHEDULE. WHAT YOU'RE DOING IS CRAP. STOP BEING STUBBORN OR YOU ARE ALL FIRED.

I like your schedule, but unfortunately the promoters who run PA Speedweek aren't going to give up theeir races as long as they're making money on them. Everyone in PA complains about Speedweek being more of the same old thing, but we keep going back. Every race is packed. I wish we could have something like you posted but I don't see it happening.

I would bet Speedweeks races are the most profitable races of the year for PA tracks. Full houses at 20-25 bucks a pop, mediocre All Star-type purses, no WoO sanctioning fee, equals big money.
