Its excellent, best drag racing museum in the world, IMHO
Speedy Bill's museum in Lincoln, Nebraska is better for circle track stuff

My favorite car there was "The Bustle Bomb". first dragster to go over 150 mph. Outlandish design, 2 engines one Olds, one Caddy, one behind rear axle & one in front, with some crazy clutch system. Best example of wild, inventive "do it yourself" creativity back in the old days, way before all racers looked the same & cost megabucks....

If you scroll right, you can see the rest of the car. I don't know how to shrink the photo
If anyone does, let me know!

Plan on spending the day as there is a lot to see. Been there twice and saw "Big Daddy" there both times.

The father of the rear engine top fuel dragster. After losing 1/2 of his foot in a big clutch accident in which the car busted in half in the middle (at the roll cage area right behind the engine), he said there has to be a better way and went to work and his ingenuity has saved countless tragic accidents. This is a dirt racing forum, but that picture of the odd dragster is something I've never seen and is well worth being on this forum. What an oddity of a car!!
Lawlessness + liberalism = HELL - NYC, Detroit, Chicago,
Seattle, LA Who the H runs those cities.

& the best part is that it was successful! First dragster over 150 mph....
I wish we had more of that homegrown ingenuity in all forms of racing today

There are some cars in there that my dad built engines for. Most notably the Blue Max funny car and also ther Barry Setzer rear engine wedge dragster car.

I was only there once & didn't see him. Bummer, cause I wanted to ask why he beat everybody (he's retired, no more secrets, right?) My guess is MORE NITRO!

Went through his travelling Museum last year at the World Series at Cordova Ill. It surely pales in comparison to the deal in Florida but for what it was worth there was a lot of info in it covering the years of his drag racing career. And yes he was there at the exihibit when we went through it, Sitting right next to Shirley " Cha Cha" Mulldowny. I believe they both received some sort of award that evening.
