I'm guessing it's an LS based engine. Looks like he made the feature twice in 7 nights

If it is an ls motor did it have to go through the woo approval process?

I have no idea. But Chad did run one at Knoxville Nats a few years ago. And if I remember correct they took it out for Saturday.

And again pure speculation,   Chads FIL Bob Hampshire built one a few years ago, likely the one he ran at K-vile. If I were to guess this is that engine and possibly why Chad was in the car.

Did they have any trouble with it and who built it.  I remember several years ago when engine costs were getting out of hand and  Danny Schatz and Donny spent a several off-WoO-nights up in Grand Forks running an LS engine.  It ran very strong but seems like they would have trouble of some sort nearly every night.  I'm not sure who was helping them with the motor.  Think it was sort of their deal.  Shaver was not involved but that was just what I was told.  That was when they were trying to get a HP increase with it, and possibly be the future WoO crate engine deal.  Would cut costs 60% or more.  Of course most of the engines/motors running at River Cities Speedway on Friday nights are as I'm told, under $20,000

Lawlessness + liberalism = HELL - NYC, Detroit, Chicago,
Seattle, LA Who the H runs those cities.

Shaver made some changes to the engine to make it more sprint car compatible.

Agreed.  Looks like the BD symmetrical port heads.

We developed and tested those heads with Brodix back in the mid 2000's.
