Was just sitting around thinking about Sprint car racing. Remember the good old days? 2000 gummies were good. Craig Dollansky, Jeff Sheppard, Danny Wood, Daryn Pittman, the late Ron Laney, Mike Goodman(there was another #3 car that year, can't think of who it was...), Kelly Kinser, Who else was there? I can't remember everyone? Or anyone have any web links to any of the old stuff?
That's when the WoO and their support series had alot if cars! Sure miss those times.

Just added the Williams Grove Speedway Gumout race August 24, 2001. Good race includes a Ron Laney interview. This race can be seen on several of our sites but here’s a link to Hoseheads Openwheel. vimeo.com/ondemand/openwheel

Was Bob Bennett the other #3? This was a great series. Was Tyler Walker a part of it in 2000?

I can't remember if Tyler was in the 2000 or 2001 Gummies partly?
Yes it was Bob Bennet. Forgot, there were 3 cars that were #3: Pittman, Bennet and Goodman if memory serves me correctly.

I was only about 10 or 11 but I'm pretty sure Tyler Walker won the gumout series championship in 2000

I'm almost 100% certain Tyler Walker was racing full time with the Gumout series when he dominated Charlotte that year. Won the first night and almost lapped the field the second night before a tire shredded.

The first year(which was 2000) Jason Meyer and Jason Sides did not run the series, well at least full time they didn't.

I remember that race...he DOMINATED . Forgot that though. Can't remember what car he was in though? I am not sure about it being 2000 though, I know he won the championship in 2002 as Pittman won it in 2001, and Dollansky in 2000. I think it only ran 3 years.

Guess I was wrong. I didn't remember Jason Meyer running in 2000... I do remember going to Beaver Dam and Oshkosh that year for the Gumouts.

Kyle Sauder from Ohio ran it, and unfortunately tore up some equipment.
In some ways now, the All Stars might be the equivalent of the Gumout Series, as it can be a stepping-stone to the Outlaws (as in Macedo) or a lnading spot for ex-Outlaws (Kemenah, McMahan).

It pretty much has been a stepping stone in my eyes. A lot of fella's ran a year or so before going to the WOO probably because of all the different tracks they ran.

And several of those former Gumout guys went on to win a lot of races with the WoO. Pittman and Meyers went on to win a combined 3 titles. It definitely served it's purpose. Wish it was still around.

BTW I went to Terre Haute I believe in 2001. most of those drivers mentioned along with McCarl, Rahmer, Dewease & a few others were there. I also met that mean old Canadian MSPN there.

Coweta and Wallace Ledford (C&W Motorsports) #35. Ricky Warner was crew chief and we built the engines.

I shot a few of those races. Ill have to dig out the footage. Didnt care for the way it all came about as the purpose of the series was to eliminate the All Stars after Bert wouldnt sell.
