Jac Haudenschild won his third Trophy Cup Championship Saturday night at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA.  He was running a strong third in the feature on Thursday night when another car looped it in ftont of Jac and he had a front tire go down. He won the Feature on Friday night with a great drive, and a pass for the lead with around five to go. Jac finished fifth in the Saturday 50 lap A Main to lead the three day points race and collect the $25,000.00 first place prize money. He was driving a #24R provided by Rico and Rico's dad. Not bad for a 60 year old!

I couldn't be happier for Jac.  My all-time favorite sprint car driver (and not so bad in the Silver Crown cars when he drove them), along with Vogler and Opperman.  As happy as I was the night at Eagle when they announced he had won the Mopar Million and the crowd went nutz.  Wish I could be 60 again.

Good to see Haud win a good paying race! I bet that made him smile big. He's a great guy and has a great personalty. I think Sheldon is going to follow in his father's footsteps. Sheldon is turning out to be a good shoe too. Jac is my wife's favorite. I think she has every shirt since he drove the Eldon 22. He has been since we started watching sprints in 1996. Congrats Jac!!!!!

You can tell an ass... but, you can't tell 'em much

Happy for Haud, he’s still got it.

Can we have our yearly debate about how dumb the Trophy Cup format is? I’ll start, i hate it.

Not tying to be a smartass here----actually curious as to what you don't like about it.

Life would be boring without variety and likely only 1 person in the world would be happy with the single option available for everything. Whats wrong with different tracks doing it their way cause they like it altered from the other track?

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

I think its a great format.... forces fast cars to do a lot of passing, no "follow the leader". Reminds me of my early dirt track experiences in Virginny back in the 1960s, season points leader started in the back of the pack, & often won (Smokey Stover won 22 out of 24 racs at Eastside Speedway, Waynesboro, Va., 1962, starting from the back nearly every time... cars were homebuilt &different back then!)

I flew from Denver to Tulare just for this format (also to visit in California...) My only gripe was too many yellows

Eighty-two or eighty-three drivers and teams can't all be wrong! If it were a dumb format, I doubt it would draw the numbers of cars that it does. Enough said.

Was wondering how much the actual winner of the 50 lap race won?

Thanks. The winner of the 50 lap finale gets $4000 and the point winner of the 3-day deal gets $25000? Wow, that's certainly quite unique. Never heard of anything like that before. IMO that's a little goofy, but I'm all for good paying shows that don't involve the outlaws.

The whole idea behind the Trophy Cup is to reward and have an overall champion for three nights of racing, rather than a champion based on one single night of racing. There were about five drivers really tight and in the hunt for the $25,000.00 Champions share in that last A Main. Rico pretty much had it locked until he was penalized for an infraction on the fuel red flag. Both of the Scelzi brothers were in the mix as was Eliason. A couple position changes towards the front and there would have been a different champion. Myself, I was rooting for the Wild Child!

It was the same all three nights, $4000 to win

If you were in the Sat. A main you were guaranteed $5000 for the three day show.

The 41 car came in 2nd in points and 6th in the Sat. A main and I think he got $9850 for the A main.
