Eagle Raceway is thrilled to announce that Thomas Weeks has graciously agreed to serve as the Grand Marshall for the 2018 version of the IMCA Sprint RaceSaver Nationals. Mister Weeks is the star of the top-rated hit TV show Misfit Garage which appears weekly on the Discovery Channel.
Misfit Garage, the brainchild of Thomas Weeks, began in 2014 and is currently on hiatus which allowed Weeks to accept our invitation to participate in this year’s festivities. Accompanying Thomas will be his assistant Jerry who has appeared on a number of the show’s episodes.
Weeks, a former racer himself stated “I love a big race, with a whole bunch of people trying to win. And if you enjoy racing as much as I do, the Racesaver Nationals is a no miss deal!! If you’re not at Eagle Raceway this coming Labor Day weekend, then you’ll be missing something REALLY big.
This race only happens once a year, and the competition will keep your attention from the time that you sit down on the bleachers until the last checkered flag drops. I really can’t wait!

The IMCA Sprint RaceSaver Nationals began in 2013 as a gathering of racers from around the country, all brought together with the intent of allowing them to put their talents to good use on the high banks of Eagle Raceway.
Since that first event the RaceSaver Nationals has continued to grow rapidly. The past two years the Nationals has become the biggest sprint car race anywhere on the planet!! The car count has far exceeded that of any other competition of its kind anywhere, and teams have streamed onto the grounds of ‘America’s Home Track’ from every corner of this great country and even from Canada with the express intention of putting on an exhibition of bravery and showcasing their talents in high-speed battles at one of the greatest venues in the dirt community. Eagle Raceway has long been known as the ‘Fastest 1/3 mile in the world’ with side-by-side racing action that can only be seen in a setting such as the RaceSaver Nationals.
The IMCA Sprint Racesaver Nationals kicks off on Thursday August 30th at 6 P.M. with an open practice night and qualifying for the Race of Champions. Over 100 of the fastest teams from all over the United States will be on hand to compete. Then, on Friday August 31st the racing kicks off in earnest. Saturday September 1st the action continues with more qualifying for the “Big Dance” on Sunday September 2nd. Finally, on Sunday, all the teams’ efforts come to a head when 27 of the best RaceSaver Sprint Car drivers in the world start 3-wide in a race for the coveted winner’s belt and the title of IMCA Sprint RaceSaver Nationals Champion!
So, if you haven’t already done so, start making plans early to be at Eagle Raceway this coming Labor Day weekend for fast and furious racing action at Eagle Raceway!!!
