Being relatively new to following the sport, anyone have a bit of a background on him? I believe he had quite a bit of 360 success with Shane Stewart previously, and seems to be a damn magician with the 410...but he looks like he isn't over 35 years old?
And what is "Finley Farms"?
Just asking...it's amazing to see what that 57 can do.

Paul Silva is fantastic, no doubt. But let's remember a couple of things before we annoint him the "magician". He has been the car chief for the #2 car all year. 1 win.
Previous to Kyle jumping in the Stenhouse #17 last year, and after jumping in the #17 last year, 0 wins for 2017.
Kyle's the magician in this case.

Excellent point. I didnt realize he was working with the 2 car as well. I didnt mean to take a single bit of credit away from Larson. When I saw he went 24th to 2nd at Lernerville last time he was there...and then started 4 last night...game over.

Kyle is for sure the best race car driver on the planet, but Silva is also amazing.
Rico hasn’t done anything since Silva split and Shane Stewart’s best years at Knoxville at least came in the Silva car.

If he has not yet earned "sprint car magician" status, he's sure on his way.
1. he's not very old
2. has been able to win on a limited schedule with a variety of drivers. Yeah, it's all been good stuff and good drivers, but it ain't that simple. For every one who has succeeded doing the same, at least 10 have failed.
Kyle Larson is a sensational shoe, for sure. But not even Kyle Larson can drop in on a track that he hasn't been to in 5 years on a Tuesday night - on a driveby from his day job - and beat the best in the business that do it every night - without at least a little magic.

No doubt. When he lined up 4th, and the 15 and 5 cars were in row 5, you knew if it stayed green there would be very little resistance from anyone but maybe Sweet.
And, as a previous poster pointed out, Silve came to Knoxville with the 57 and Shane and they were pretty damned tough during those Nationals!
I know he's not the official "crew chief" of the #2, but he is the general manager of the team and something tells me he does a lot more than book hotel rooms and write checks.

Paul is the team manager. Lee Stauffer is turning the wrenches or was.
I believe Paul only wrenches the 57.

I thought Lee Stauffer was the crew chief on the #2 car owned by Larson. Did I miss something?

You guys are right, Paul is team manager for the 2 car. We were pitted next to him at the Knoxville Outlaw show on Saturday and there was no sign of Paul what so ever.

Silva might be the best in the business next to ricky. I doubt that are too many actual drivers who would argue that.

I think Paul Silva is amazing. Kyle drives the car really hard. I don't recall the car breaking much last year or this year. Despite how agressive Kyle drives it, the car keeps running and running fast. Fast & resilient !

I already corrected myself before the rest of you did. True, Silva is not the crew chief. However, something tells me he's not exaclty sitting back letting the boys do their own thing.

I'm not debating anything but if Silva is one of the top 3 or 4 crew chief in this sports isnt it ridiculous to hire him as a general manager? Do all WoO teams have general managers? Sounds like a position made to keep a guy around who has been faithful to your dream for 50 yrs. But Silva isnt that guy. Why doesnt he crew chief and if he is as good as Warner why wouldnt you go for gold with all the right men in all the right places
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!
