If Bell doesn't get a flat tire with 3 laps to go it would have been 4 NASCAR boys in the top 5, Yikes!!  As it was 3 of the to 4 is still nice.  The Posse debate sadly is over, has been for some time, ahhhh the fun days, gone forever....

I tried to post this last night but it kept telling me I had not hit the 'submit' button, what the hell is a 'submit' button.  In over 3,000 posts I have never hit it yet, too old to start trying.....

Yo Mikey, In the spirit of the Holiday (Independence Day to you furriners) you remind me of those poor fellas under Picketts command trying to storm the Bloody Angle only to be rebuffed by a couple of Pennsylvanias finest units (including the Pa 72nd, also known as the Philadelphia Fire Zoaves).  Yeah, a couple of Nascar boys brought their high dollar equipment to Pa to join in the fun, and to nobody's surprise they had some success, (at least on a short track that the Posse boys very rarely run).  What was the term you used in another thread about Lance, CHERRYPICKING?!?  LOL!

No, It isn't the Posse's strongest year, but there is a good core group of young talent at work and getting better.  And in case nobody has pointed it out to you, Larson is easily in the top 3 talents in sprint car racing and a threat to win ANYWHERE he shows up.  If there were any real surprises last night it would be Smoke doing so well, (the last few times I saw him it seemed his heart wasn't in it) and young Freddy finding his way around the track his Dad absolutely owned, even before he started racing sprints.

One of these days we'll have to have this debate in person.  Enjoy the races!  Smile

I think you are missing the point, actually. The point to be made is that yeh, the invaders you mention are talented drivers, but they happen to have their asses sitting in equipment that is on par with the best equipment running the WoO series.  If you don't think that made a difference last night and other nights, ask around.  With the exception of Larson/Silva, the others you mention seem to get their asses handed to them most times when they strap in and run against the Outlaws, and that's when equipment and driver come together. And this year, even Larson has struggled against the Outlaws. There are a lot of drivers around the country that given the NASCAR money have the driving talent to do very well. Sadly, few can come close to matching the budgets of those guys.

There is NO debate, hasn't been one in years.  The Posse isn't nor hasn't produced major talent (thank God for the Bobby Allen connection) in decades.  CA without near the competition on a regular basis has many times over.  I don't bring it up anymore on here because it's not fair.  I thought last night was taking it a step further when the NASCAR boys put it to them, dang.

Young Fred is a talent, a true talent with a great future, I hope Dad lets him hit the highway in a few years to practice and show people the ability he seems to have.  I would like to see Double D get a major sponsor and hit the road also, he always goes hard.  Having said that tho' the road is a tough place and not getting easier, time will tell....

By the way, these thoughts are simply result oriented and occasional PPV's, I no longer can make any better of a claim and it's not like I am seeing a dozen or more races in PA like I used to every year...

PS  4 of them owned the locals last night for the most part, hardly a couple and on top of that a couple travellers droped out or it would have been worse....I will watch the Port tonight and Lance will be near the front no doubt, some will call it Cherry Picking (me) other will say he's great (me) and the team is magic (me).....Hillary is and always will be a crook, lol...later....

On the 4th of July some people like to pass the time by fishing.

I can see you are one of them. Haha.

So you pick one race & brag about NASCAR guys? Go back one race to Lincoln: Posse wins after Larson screws up in turn 2, Kahne finished 10th & superstar Tony Stewart doesn't even make the feature

I guess Christopher Bell is NASCAR too? 13th

So there.....

Agreed on all counts. The posse is still pretty good but in recent years, outsiders from all over have been able to come in here and win convincingly in regular shows, unsanctioned specials and of course sanctioned shows. The Posse just isn't what it used to be these days. As far as Little Freddie goes , I watch him every week and if you ask me, he is a star in the making. The kid has it all. He has a great attitude, he's good on big or small tracks and he can pedal it through the slick or hammer the curb with the best of them. He's fast anywhere he unloads no matter what track it is. For his age, he's incredible and he's still getting better. Dietrich on the otherhand, has everything talent wise but his attitude/ego will always hold him back unless he fixes himself. His antics at Williams Grove last Friday were ridiculous and 100% uncalled for. I don't know what made him think that he should get 2 laps to fix a torsion stop but it clearly states in the rulebook that the only time you get 2 laps is when you have a flat tire which he clearly did not. He has talent that could take him anywhere he wants to go but his attitude will always hold him back.

OK, you got me... don't care for the "as usual" part tho...

I was surprised, cause you don't usually get into the "Posse vs. the World" thing....

Little Freddy ran a great race at Path, but seemed a lot slower than Duncan in the last few laps... tires worn out?

Dietrich is a tough driver for sure, I usually don't care about their personalities, but after seeing his tantrum at WG, its clear that he's kind of a brat. I don't know if that will affect him on the track, tho...

rev, I started the Posse vs. the world thing in this forum almost 20 years ago, lol....

You missed a few good years of craziness, back in the days when this place was hopping....

Captain Utah gets it, likely has for a very long time, don't know the man but if we ever cross paths he won't have to pay, lol.

Fixxer, totally agree about young Freddie, already posseses a heavy right foot and is usually heading in the right direction as well, I hope he has the success his Father did, one of the greatest sprint car racers of all time and one of the most humble.....

Actually those guys just did what the drivers of the Hamilton, Weikert, Morral, Dyer and a few others over the years usually did. When your equipment is head and shoulders above most of the compitition and you are a good driver you usually do pretty well. In a way I miss those cars but on the other hand I like going to races knowing more than just a few guys have a reasonable chance to win. That does however give visitors a better chance here than they once had.

It can certainly affect him on the track. When you get a bad reputation, it can cost you ride and/or sponsorship opportunities.

So now all of a sudden the poor posse doesn't have the budget to compete?  lol

Have you counted the full time hired drivers who never miss a race lately. I think anyone with half a brain knows we don't have the full time teams that we had in years past. It is my opinion that the weekly shows are better for it.

Surely you realize the difference between a budget and A BUDGET, and which race teams have which.
