-Racing at 8pm Friday at Heart o’ Texas Speedway and 7pm at Kennedale Speedway Park!

-There have been 8 different feature winners in 9 SCB 2018 events…and 21 different drivers have won the 27 heat races – so winners circle will be up for grabs!

Here are the complete event details for each event:

SPRINT CAR BANDITS RETURNS TO HEART O’ TEXAS SPEEDWAY – FRIDAY, JUNE 22nd!

Elm Mott, TX (06/19/18) by DarinShort.com. The NCRA Sprint Car Bandits (SCB) series first event of the 2018 season took place at the 1/4 mile 'bullring' oval of Heart O' Texas Speedway in Waco, with a full field of quality 360C.I. sprint car teams. At the end of the 25-lapper, Michael Day would take the win back home to Greenville, Texas.

The Series returns for its second of three 2018 visits on Friday, June 22nd during Children’s Tumor Foundation Night, with the first green flag dropping at 8pm. Note that Friday, August 24th the SCB makes its final 2018 visit on MDA Night at the Speedway.

Heart O' Texas Speedway information, please click www.HeartOTexasSpeedway.com and note their address is 784 N McLennan Drive Waco, TX 76640 (just north of town right off of I-35); track phone is 254-829-2294. Action fires up at 8pm on June 22nd.

All sprint car teams that sign in will draw for heat race starting positions, regardless of their engine C.I. displacement, and will receive passing points to determine their straight-up from points feature race starting position. All drivers make sure to read the posted rules at the series website prior to heading to the track.

The standard posted SCB purse and rules are in effect. All non-qualifiers or non-starters will each receive $100. There is no entry fee, no series membership fee and just a $15 nightly draw fee. Drivers should go to www.SprintCarBandits.com prior to arrival for complete rules, purse and procedures information.

We would like to thank the sponsors of the Sprint Car Bandits series: Rodd Hanna's Air Performance, A&M Glass Service, Palm Harbor Homes, Kustom Craft Exhibits, Gen-Tech at FixYourGenerator.com, Mow Time in Farmersville, RockAuto.com, Pro-Tech Service Co., Scott Baylor Racing Engines, American Elevator Technologies, South Dallas Battery & Electric Co., Gary Floyd Homes, Utility Trailer of Dallas, Inc., DFW Urethane, Valvoline Express Care of Seagoville, www.ShopTheBOSS.com, www.DarinShort.com and the SCB points fund is sponsored by Smiley’s Racing Products & Hoosier Tire Southwest.

The SCB series has a unique rules package that allows teams to use their current equipment (especially in the engine compartment) yet curbing nightly tire expense...which helps equalize the competition, with teams of varying budget sizes.

That rules package certainly has the vote of many of the drivers in the DFW area, as 83 have competed in the series during the first nine events of 2018.

Between the lower operating cost of the SCB series and the addition of sponsor funds into nightly purses, it is allowing more area race tracks to book events - which all translates into DFW area fans getting to see quality sprint car race at a lower grandstand ticket price.

Click www.SprintCarBandits.com for the latest in series news - including the brand new event flyers for Heart O' Texas (June 22), Kennedale Speedway Park (June 23) and LoneStar Speedway (June 30). You can also reach the SCB on Facebook, at www.Facebook.com/SprintCarBandits

If your business is interested in getting involved with the SCB series, please contact Mary Lang directly at: [email protected] or by calling 469-474-8234. There are effective programs available for all sizes of budgets.

AFTER LAST NIGHT the Sprint Car Bandits series has 9 different winners in the first 10 events of 2018, as Dale Wester picked up his first ever SCB series win at Heart O' Texas Speedway!

>> TONIGHT Sprint Car Bandits series action moves on to Kennedale Speedway Park - racing at 7pm! Click www.SprintCarBandtis.com for complete details<<

Back to last night, Claud Estes III took an early lead after top points getter Dalton Steed spun on the ultra-slick surface (it was 100 degrees and pretty windy all day).

Wester would continue to advance from his 6th place starting spot and began stalking Estes at the mid-point where he would overtake the top spot and cruise on to the checkers.

Claud Estes III would hold on to finish in 2nd, while it was a real banner night for the Estes Gang, as Claud's nephhew D.J. would finish 3rd and Sprint Car Bandits points leader Colby Estes would come home 5th.

Ryan Hall, driving the Valvoline Express Care of Seagoville #79 would finish a solid 4th place.

The complete finishing order is posted at our website and on www.Facebook.com/SprintCarBandits

Here's a couple of video clips from last night from Don Cook, showing the feature race (first link).

And the night was not without incident, as captured by Don in hot laps (in the 2nd video link below), when contact between Chad Wilson (20) and Chad Ewell (7) sent both cars flipping, with Ewell flipping outside of the track surface. Both drivers were reported uninjured.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDPX0W7P-kA

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gSoD_Pwf2s

Young Weston Gorham (71W) would flip in his heat race, while Gary Floyd would hit the backstretch wall in his heat race resulting in him ending up off the racing surface outside corner 3. Again, no injuries were reported.

We would like to thank the following individuals who put up special awards prior to last night's racing action:

Fred Summers from www.FixYourGenerator.com put up $50 to Longest Tow, Gary Floyd, was the recipient.

John Ewell put up $100 to a Hard Luck recipient, which ended up going to Chad Ewell, his son, after the crash in hot laps.

Tammy Pack Sturgeon offered up a $100 Hard Charger, which went to Bobby Middleton, who advanced an impressive 11 spots in the feature.

It was also interesting to note last night that:

The two of the 6th place starters in their heat races (Steed, Kinnison) would advance their positions enough to earn the top 2 starting positions in the A-feature, while the other 6th place heat starter (Wester) would earn the 6th highest points total - and would go on to win.

THANKS AGAIN to all of the race teams, fans, sponsors and Heart O' Texas Speedway for their support of the event and we look forward to seeing you all tonight as the weekend wraps up at Kennedale Speedway Park at 7pm. Bo Rawdon has been feverishly working on the track surface with the added heat, and will have it in tip top condition!
