     That's not a lot. I don't understand your question. That's all I know.

That’s the point.  There are no details except 15 minuets ago about 3:30 hot laps.

I think the IRA is way over priced.

Who knows if they are even racing.   Absolutely no details except for possible hot laps at 3:30.  Got a feeling they are kind of worried about having people pay $25 for a $14 show.   How many good 410s are gonna be there?  They normally at least try to pump their  shows up.  Not this time.

If you want to know what happened in Pennsylvania though, you’re good!

We probably would have went but what the hell for?

In the old days, you went to the races. Now folks just stick their faces into the internet and bitch. "There's not enough big races. There's not enough cars. Prices are too high. The crowds are too thin. The promoter is making too much money. "

People like you should be poster children for the demise of local racing. Go on YouTube and take a bow when you are done killing off the sport. Then get on the internet and bitch about it.

And I'm sure you walked uphill six miles both way to the races?

Hilarious seeing someone bitch about people who are supposedly bitching about something.

Ha! I guess I can't argue with you there. I'm just pointing out that the majority of conversations on this and other social media, when talking about racing, tend to do nothing but bitch about how everything "sucks!!!". It seems like those that are the loudest complainers don't even go to the races. Do they rant and rave with equal fervor about concerts they don't go to? Girls they didn't date?

Surely there's some good things that can be mentioned about races, racers, race tracks, promoters, fans, etc? It looks like Strange Wings and I have both been on Hosehead for about 13 years and have about the same amount of posts. Maybe he's had some good thing to say. I truly don't remember any. When I see his name I always expect him to be talking bad about the IRA. From reading his posts, it doesn't sound like he's attended any IRA races. What gives?

When people stop supporting racing, racing will go away. I bet you'd agree that we see a lot of signes of that going on right now.

It looks like the WoO had 22 race at Devil's Bowl. Maybe the IRA should throttle back a bit.

I actually think on the contrary for sprint cars and midgets, not sure other forms of dirt racing as I don't pay a lot of attention.

The reality is I think there are more eyes on sprint car racing than ever. I've seen packed houses in a ton of pictures of events around the US this year. The involvement of high profile names seems to have a positive effect - Smoke has done it forever, Kahne not quite as long but the newer invovlement of guys like Larson, Bell and Abreu have had an unarguable positive impact on open wheel dirt racing.

In reality, there are a ton of reasons some dirt tracks/series have struggled. Are there negative social media posts? Yep, however, I'm sure some of those are legitimate criticisms that are not taken in any constructive matter but rather people feeling they're being attacked.

At the end of the day, I feel like sprint car racing especially has benefitted greatly from the internet. I remember in the early years of my being on Hoseheads, it could take days to get results from even major events, let alone normal Outlaw shows, and good luck hoping for something from a regional or weekly show. Compare that with last night, where I think there were anywhere from 5-8 dirt races I could watch live, almost every race in the US has either a track, sanction, or fan posting up-to-the-minute results. It's incredible.

I have to think DIrtVision is bringing in a load of extra cash for the WoO this year. There might have been some upfront costs that hopefully they are amortizing, but just looking at their Twitter on a normal night shows there are a ton of people who have subscribed for the monthly deal.

I've seen the posts from tracks and/or sanctions complaining about social media. In a lot of those cases, I have to think there's some fire to the smoke. Like it or not, they are offering a product and if people have gripes about that product, they can either work towards resolving those, or they can ignore it and hope it doesn't have enough effect. I have zero empathy for these tracks that have closed down citing social media - I'd bet a huge portion - if not all of them - were losing money and decided to take the easy way out. Is it possible for someone to be making a lot of money and still decide it's not worth the hassle? I suppose, but I just find it very unlikely.

Also, isn't it possible that you don't most concert goers complaining because they were satisfied with their concert? Hell, I get frustrated with the damn support classes that seem to take forever when watching WoO on DV from the comfort of my home. But I understand that I have a choice there - if I don't like it, I can choose not to watch it. I could complain, but I feel lucky to be able to watch the Outlaws live and will deal with it because it's worth it to me.

Anyways, got kind of winded here - I know there people out there who just want to incessantly bitch and complain with no valid points, but there are also people who are giving invaluable feedback to product providers (tracks, series, drivers, the whole bunch) in ways to improve the product they are offering. Don't lump them all together.

$25 for what?   13 cars?

I just checked my local track for car count.........zero........it's a cornfield now.  Why?  No support.  People bitching about car counts and not attending.  Now?  I drive hours to see a race.  Quit yer bitchin and go watch the races.  Or take up knitting and stay off the boards.

All Stars at $28 in Plymouth in a couple weeks.  $25 for the IRA and the show dragged on quite a bit, from what it sounds like...especially tough on a Sunday night.

Exactly. Hey I drove up and it was actually a better show than I had hoped for, but yes, the IRA is not a $25 show type series. $18 would be more realistic. While the 27 cars was slightly pumped up due to some steel motor limited 360's, they had more than I figured and wonder how that will look all year long. Once you pluck Henderson, Bowers, Blackhurst and Balog out most weekends, these shows will be pretty weak outside Thiel, Meyer, Neitzal, Schultze and Reinke. You can already see the scales tipping towards their non wing division in car counts, in 2-3 years, IRA winged part will be dismal.
