Three members of the Valvoline Raceway (Sydney Australia) Fire and Rescue Team have been invited to join the Thunderbowl (Tulare) Speedway team for the Peter Murphy Appreciation Night. Frank Scandolera (Team Captain), John Harriss and Lance Wilson will proudly be in attendence to help celebrate the night with a bit of Aussie input. Any visiting or residing Aussies are invited to join us after the meeting for a bit of meet and greet, all in the acknowledgement of Peter Murphy's contribution to the speedawy industry world wide.

Not sure if any of these guys were with the team back in the mid 90's when I spent a couple of summers down there, but that Crew were special, some of the best men in racing. They were all volunteers and loved their work and were accomplished at it. After the races at PCR back in the day they organized the 'get together' in the pits and the money went to a fund they were in charge of. Heck, if you had your own you would still buy it from them instead knowing the money would be put to good use. Such a blast to swap stories, there were nights we left when the sun came up......

Yes MSPN we probably were. We have all been around since the joint was built - even had a hand in its construction in 1976. We are all long serving fire rescue team volunteers that simply love and enjoy what we do for the drivers and track.
