Our W2 Motorsports iRacing league Knoxville weekly series just ended last night. We are now opening up the league to recruit a few new drivers who are interested in participating regularly in the Wed. series. Next season (starting in two weeks) we will begin our Limaland weekly series (Racing a 12 week series at Limaland). It will feature the Winged, and Wingless 360 Sprints each competing in a 40 lap feature. The first division will begin with practice starting at 8:30 ET, and the second division will begin with practice starting at 9:15 ET. The divisions will alternate (switching time slots weekly) to ensure participation in both classes.
Last seasons champions were Jeff Wentworth in the 360 Sprints, with Brayden Mickley and Zach Peck rounding out the top 3. In the UMP Modified division it was Seth Chaney with the championship followed by his brother Trevor Chaney and Jeff Wentworth. It was a great season with good car counts in our target range between 12-18 cars for the 360s. We have done away with the UMP Modified class and replaced them with Wingless 360s due to low participation.
We had several great drivers racing with us on a regular or semi regular basis such as PA Sprint Series driver Tylor Cochran, 410 Sprint Car driver Cap Henry, Super Late Model drivers Dale Hollidge, and Tyler Horst, Limited and Crate Late Model drivers Darin Henderson, and Jake Moser, as well as Modified drivers Seth Chaney, and Trevor Chaney. That is in addition to all of the other great iRacers who regularly joined us.
We are looking for only a few drivers (5 new drivers max) who meet the following criteria:
- Not too serious. We are looking to have fun, and do not want a high stress environment. The official series are the place where you can get mad if a driver makes a mistake and costs you safety rating, or iRating. Here our goal is to get together on Wed. night to race with a bunch of fun, respectful drivers and have a good time.
- Clean, we do not tolerate dirt drivers at all. I've removed people from the series on a regular basis for consistently racing dirty. This is a judgement call by the admin team.
- A regular. Missing weeks is fine, but it makes things difficult for us if you miss 50% of the races. We want to keep our car count in the 12-18 range so as not to have to have drivers who don't get to race due to being a DNQ. In addition last weeks winner always starts at the rear of the field. If we have too many cars we are unable to do that. By having drivers who only occasionally race it makes it difficult to predict how many cars we will have. We have two drop races built into the points, and don't mind drivers who might even miss a few more. But would like you to be able to run at least 8 of the races in each series out of 12 if you apply.
- Not a complainer. Seriously, don't complain all the time. It's not fun for anyone.
- Over 18 years old
360s winged and wingless alternating time slots (8:30, and 9:15) on Wed. nights every week starting on 3/14 and running through to late May. All 12 races for each division will be at the newly released Limaland Speedway. Setups are open. Last weeks winner always starts last.
