According to this tweet:

https://twitter.com/TonyStewart/status/961272648826261504

"If you’re around Daytona come watch us race at Volusia Speedway racing with the @ASCoC tonight and tomorrow. We’ll be at @BubbaRaceway Friday and Saturday. We’re not allowed to bring our tshirt trailer for you fans to @WorldofOutlaws races so we won’t race with them this year"

A followup tweet.......

"Because we aren’t a full time “driver” with the series and Brian Carter and a couple of the drivers (Darren Pittman) say I would be taking money out of their pockets by bringing my trailer."

Dang, promoters are pissed from Coast to Coast, losing their biggest draw easily.  Schatz could load up with Tony stuff if he wanted to, won't surprise me if he does, lol....

F------ Outlaws with there stupidity and lack of good old common sense! For what??????? A half a dozen or so shows a year!!! Does the WRG/WoO have any brains at all?!  And too.......Stewart can be an idiot, also, they could set his t-shirt trailer up off premises and probably still out sell the rest. Pissing contests do nothing for the fans in instances like this. They are all a bunch of greedy egotistical asses!

Wasn’t there some controversy last year about the high prices eldora was charging to sell shirts at the Royal? Some teams had to double up as I recall to help lower the cost per team.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but at Knoxville isn't Schatz one of the ones who sets up across the street from the track?   At least I don't think I've seen anyone selling their stuff inside where most of the other vendors are.    Not sure if that's a Knoxville Raceway deal or a WoO deal or not.    Looks like Smoke could do the just off premises thing that someone already suggested...

WoO did a similar deal to Dollansky a few years ago. He was running Knoxville weekly and had a permanent spot for his trailer, and was leaving it there between events rather than towing it back and forth. When the WoO came to town for their sanctioned event they forced him to move it off the Fairgrounds property. Reasons such as those are why I quit buying WoO souvenirs many years ago!

There are plenty of non outlaws with merchandise outfits, guys that come to mind are Rico, Dobmeier, K. Madsen, Brown. It would be interesting to hear the whole story about this, but if this is going to be the start of a dick measuring contest between the outlaws and Tony. Tony is going to win no matter what the cost.

I do not see any problem supporting the teams that follow your series. Absolutely nothing wrong with this.

You're right of course, but how long does the series last if only 16 teams show up?

If you set up inside you pay fees.

I would guess that the rule protects the Outlaws from any old vendor selling their merch.  I don't care for the cartoon shirts anyways.  I feel like some kind of advertiser walking around in a sandwich board.  Plain pocket Ts are more my style.  My roots go back to when a plain white T with the STP logo was considered flamboyant.  wink

This is literally a topic every year on hoseheads after one driver or another gets pissed off by the rule.  Tony, Swindell, Craig, etc... In the next few days everyone will forget about it and the Outlaws will still have massive crowds and good car counts.

If Stewart skips the Outlaw races this year, that just means I'll have more chances to try and beat him at local tracks in the Southeast racing 360s!  Maybe he'll skip the Outlaw show at Charlotte, and come race a RaceSaver in Gastonia a few miles South of the speedway that same night!

They should watch out someday tony will own the WOO,

he could play dirty also and tell the woo that they can not park their trailer at eldora, wonder what they would say then, they should learn do not piss of Smoke.

Are they talking about a trailer that has only tony merchendise, or the All Star trailer.

Super Chuck can't believe he's taking the WoO's side on this one...but this is an existing rule (not new) designed to protect their own.  There is a sense of exclusivity when only the WoO drivers merch trailers are there with the traveling series.  Super Chuck understands why Smoke is pissed, but the whole "I'm taking my ball and going home!" stance turns him off.  It not only hurts the WoO but it hurts the fans who come to watch him race...and make no mistake, there are A TON of people who will come out just to see him race.  Ask Knoxville.

That said, Smoke has fielded at least one car on the tour since 2001...he has a right to be pissed.  But if the rule says driver's merch trailers only, that's what it means.  Nobody wins in this one.

Super Chuck
