Husker Red I will do my best to explain:  As you come off of turn 4 its like there is ditch between the straightaway and the frontstretch wall- so it kinda looks like a moat. I'd say there is about 10 feet between the edge of the track and the wall and from the edge of the track the drop down is about 4 feet , so if you go over the edge you can drop down bout 4 feet into the "moat". He is the PROBLEM with it now: They have put a wall that extends from part of the front straight all around turns 1&2 and now if you go into the moat you dont have much time to get back on the track before you hit the first turn wall. You see it didn't used to be like this. Back in the day there was no walls at  all in the turns. If you went off the turn, you just went over the edge into the marbles, collected yourself and kept going most often .In the worst case you went around the back of turns 1&2 and came back on the track on the backstretch (I saw steve kinser do this back in the 90s and only lose 2 spots). They have also puts walls around turns 3&4. As a result it has shortened and narrowed the track. It seems to me its taken away the very top line. Back in the day I have seen drivers drive the very top line by almost hanging the right rear over the edge of the front straight just to get into the turns at the very top groove. Mike Woodring was a master at this and even modified drivers like Alan Johnson did it with great success (it was fun to watch). Sadly because of the new walls that line is not there. From what I hear the fans are not happy with it, they remember what it use to be like. I was at the WOO race last nite and because of safety issues all restarts were single file. I talked to Dave Gravel in the pits afterward and he said they were worried about the moat and the first turn wall. I also saw a Patriot Tour 360 race this year and they had no problems with doing  double file restarts, so I dont know what to think bout that. Bottem line the track was better with no walls , it was pretty much a copy of Lernerville. The track is under new ownership so we shall see, hope this helps.

Also, go on Ransomville's Facebook page and look at some the pics of the track , you'll get an idea of what I'm talking about, especially that stupid first turn wall.
