Thot i read somewhere that Volusia speedway was closing. Is that true? Why? Who will host their season starter event in their place?
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Volusia opens and closes every 2-3 years. I am not sure what the status is right now, but it doesn't matter for the February races. World Racing Group owns the facility, but leases it to other promotors for the racing season.
However, the Dirtcar Nationals are not part of the lease agreement, they are run by WRG themselves, so even if the track sits idle with no promotor for the entire year, the Dirtcar Nats will still be held, until the day the WRG sells the facility.

They mostly run local stocks, late models, and Mods. I don't really see anything too big besides a $5K to win hobbystock show which I imagine would bring in a lot of cars.
