Short of a long story is my brother is in the military and is PCSing overseas and he has an old sports car he wants me to look after while he's gone. Figured we would meet up in Indy on some Saturday. Not sure what weekend, but it's gonna be pretty quick. I honestly want to do it the week before Memorial day because of traffic etc, but that isn't locked in stone. Any suggestions for local tracks in and around Indy running wingless on Saturday nights? Thanks.

If you could make a Sunday night work then you've got to go to Kokomo. If you can only make it on a Saturday night then I would suggest June 10 at Lawrenceburg. Lawrenceburg is a fantastic high banked track with an amazing facility. The June 10 race is part of USAC's Indiana Midget Week, which will feature a full field of midgets and non-wing sprint cars as a support class. A lot of the midget guys race the non-wing sprints so it's basically a dual USAC show. You can't go wrong with that race.

I've thoroughly enjoyed races at both tracks mentioned here!

Only track I've been to in Indiana is Lawrenceburg which is an hour and 15 from Indianapolis but I really enjoyed my time there. State of the art facilities and a very well run program. Planning on making the drive back this weekend from school in Dayton to go there if the rain holds off, but looks bleak right now.

If you move the date to May 27th, I highly recommend the 69th annual Little 500 at Anderson Speedway.  They start 33 non-wing sprints, 500 laps in rows of 3 with live pit stops.  All the big dirt & pavement drivers will be there including "rookies" Tony Stewart and Ken Schrader.

There is also USAC racing Wednesday, Thursday and Friday that week in the Indy area.
