The first race in the new summer season showcased some great racing with the second 40 lap feature for the Valley Sprint class. This was also a double point night for the Valley Sprints giving the drivers the chance to make up some points. The mod lites were on hand with a solid car count and the 600cc class brought 21 micro sprints which equaled one exciting night at the Valley.
The first feature of the night was the mod lite class. Dillon Raffurty and Michael Raffurty made up the front row when the green flag flew.Early on it was Dillon, Michael and David Raffurty in the mix for the lead, however it would not take long for Jeff Raffurty to join the battle. The top three cars settled in, Dillon David and Jeff ruffurty running in the top three with some great side by side racing especially on a couple restarts. When the green flag flew they would finish in that order. Justin Raffurty who had a early race spin was able to fight his way back to 7th place at the checkers.

Up next a field of 21 micros took the track. the front row was set with Kale Mueller and David Hartman. For the first several laps of the race Mueller and Doug Hackett were locked in a battle for the lead. Both cars ran close exchanging the lead a handful of times before Kale Mueller was able to take control and lead the field to the checkers. Hackett would finish a close second followed by Bill Nolker who started on the fourth row and battled to a solid third place finish. Finishing in the 11th spot was Randy Stevenson who received a special birthday surprise be getting in a 600 cc micro for his first race.

The final race of the night was the 40 lap Valley Sprint feature with a competition caution at the half way point. Kenny Potter and Chad Tye led the field to the green flag. In the opening laps Potter led the field, with Frank Brown followed closely behind after charging his way to second. As the race progressed Brown found a nice line on the high side and was able to take over the lead followed by Potter and John Helm. Brown led the field to the half way point when the cars stopped on the front stretch for the competition pit stop. As drivers worked on the cars fans gathered on the front stretch to watch the pit crews work on the cars. Fans were also treated to $1.00 hotdogs during the break. When the race resumed Brown led the field to the green and held on to the lead til the checkers. Second went to Helm followed by Clark, who made a last lap pass on Potter.
