| Plenty at Stake in ASCS / Wesmar Challenge | ||

Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (September 28, 2007) – One lucky and talented driver will come away from Devil's Bowl Speedway's Winter Nationals in Mesquite, TX, on October 12 and 13 with a brand new Wesmar Racing Engine by topping the ASCS / Wesmar Clash.
That engine, worth more than $30,000, will be quite the carrot for each of the 26 drivers eligible for the ASCS / Wesmar Clash. But a number of other manufacturers and suppliers in the industry have stepped up to ensure that no driver competing in the ASCS / Wesmar Clash walks away empty-handed. All drivers competing in the ASCS / Wesmar Clash will come away with at least several hundred dollars worth of merchandise, with other prizes including an Eagle Chassis, a Maxim Chassis, Brodix cylinder heads, a Simpson helmet, Pro Shocks, MPD wheels, Hoosier tires and Weld certificates. The breakdown of prizes for the ASCS / Wesmar Clash is as follows: 1st – Wesmar Racing Engine 2nd – Eagle Chassis or Maxim Chassis 3rd – Eagle Chassis or Maxim Chassis 4th through 8th – Set of cylinder heads from Brodix 9th – Simpson Voodoo Helmet 10th – Set of Pro Shocks 11th – MPD right rear wheel 12th – MPD left rear wheel 13th – two MPD front wheels 14th on back – Hoosier tires and Weld certificates Twenty-six drivers from throughout the nation have earned invitations to the ASCS / Wesmar Clash, which will be run as a part of the 34th Annual Devil's Bowl Winter Nationals which will be headlined by two full nights of O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National series competition. Passing and finishing points will be in effect for each segment, with the top points earner winning a new Wesmar Racing Engine. Drivers earned points towards the Wesmar Racing Engines Challenge by earning three points for a feature win, two points for a runner-up finish and one point for each third-place feature finish. A driver had to compete in at least 60% of a respective Region's events prior to the September 15 deadline and be a registered member of the American Sprint Car Series to represent that Region in the ASCS / Wesmar Racing Engines Challenge. The top two point earners from each ASCS Region, along with the top National Tour contenders, earned invitations to the ASCS/Wesmar Challenge. The 2007 season is the 16th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series, with the series set to sanction approximately 240 nights of racing at more than 100 different race tracks throughout nearly 30 different states and Canada.
