Weekend at Silver Dollar Did Not Go as Planned CLOVIS, Calif. (September 9, 2007) –Jason Meyers and the Elite Racing, Primerica Financial, Elite Landscaping, GLR Investments, Team Worldwide, Carbon Raptor DLC, Ridgeline Framing Maxim Chassis with Garrett Racing Engines World of Outlaws (WoO) sprint car team got to spend a week at home in northern California, before heading to the traditional and famed Gold Cup Race of Champions. QUALIFYING NIGHT – 54TH ANNUAL GOLD CUP RACE OF CHAMPIONS After having the WoO field split amongst two qualifying nights based on points at the time of the "draw," Meyers and Elite Racing would be scheduled to race their qualifier on Thursday night. Qualifying fifth, Meyers would not have any of the WoO drivers that are ahead of him in points finish ahead of him in time trials. Battling an extremely tight race car in his heat race, Meyers would finish fifth in his heat race on the high-banked quarter-mile race track. Lining up twelfth for the A-Main event, Meyers would go over the cushion in turn four and would have his work cut out for him making his way back through the field. His eleventh place finish would put him solidly in the field for the forty lap A-Main event on Saturday, with the field being set by points earned throughout the two qualifying nights. "You really couldn't run on the top tonight, so everyone was on the bottom," said Meyers. "We had some ground to make up after going off the track, and with everyone running on the bottom, it made for an interesting nigh for us. We have a lot of our friends and family in town for this event, not to mention our local sponsors, since we are only a few hours from home." WILL ELITE RACING BE THE GOLDEN TEAM AT THE GOLD CUP? Knowing that he would have to put his "elbows up" on Saturday, as the Elite Racing Team accumulated enough points to line up eighteenth in the Gold Cup Race of Champions. With the track in good shape for the Gold Cup finale, Meyers knew that he has had some wins at the speedway (three) and understood that he truly knows his way around the small speedplant. Having to pass drivers such as Craig Dollansky, Daryn Pittman and Danny Lasoski, Meyers would cross the line in seventh place after the forty lap A-Main event. "The track took rubber, but it was still racy enough for us to pass eleven cars," said Meyers. "Our guys have worked so hard all season long, and it's been nice to be back to making things happen again – everything has been holding together and we are doing well in the points again."
