Barnett Harley DIRTcar Modified Series Visits Central Arizona Raceway This Weekend (May 24-25) For Two-Day Show
Casa Grande, AZ - May 23, 2008 - The Barnett Harley DIRTcar Modified Series returns to action this weekend (May 24-25) with a two-day extravaganza at Central Arizona Raceway in Casa Grande, Ariz.
A large field of open-wheel Modifieds is expected for the holiday-weekend event, which historically draws drivers from across the Southwest to challenge the fast, high-banked three-eighths-mile clay oval.
Complete shows for the Barnett Harley DIRTcar Modified Series will be contested on both Saturday and Sunday, setting up a busy weekend for the tour's participants. Gates open each day at 5 p.m. and racing is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
Jay Foster leads the 2008 Barnett Harley DIRTcar Modified Series points standings through four events. He has one victory to his credit.
Trailing Foster by just a single point heading to Central Arizona Raceway is Anthony Madrid, who also has a tour win under his belt. Jason Noll has fought through some mechanical failures to sit third in the standings, with R.C. Whitwell (one win) and former series Rookie of the Year Tony Steele completing the top five.
Rounding out the top 10 in the points race are former tour champion Scott Logston, series sponsor Sherman Barnett, Jay Rosales, Guy Norton and veteran Mark Harrison.
Bumper Jones, who has a victory on this year's series, is also expected to be a strong contender this weekend after coming off a five-race swing with the USMTS.
