Myers Brothers race team continues to sit top 5 in JPM points
By Gary Thomas
Chico, CA – May 6, 2008…Competing at Chico’s Silver Dollar Speedway this past Friday night the Myers Brothers racing team maintained two spots among the top five in the John Padjen Motorsports Wingless Sprint Car standings.
The Feather Falls Casino point race was sponsored by Ashley Furniture and a very fast and hooked up track was presented to competitors. The sour part of the night however, was the fact that Cody Myers suffered engine issues that forced him to scratch for the night following heat race action.
Mason Myers’ night went much smoother as he brought home a runner-up finish in the third and final heat race before lining up on the outside of the front row. Mason got the initial jump on the field, but a caution flag appeared and forced a complete restart. When the green came back out he settled into second and battled a number of drivers in the top five during the race. After 20 laps of action he crossed the line in fourth to score his third top five finish of the season.
Following the night in Chico Mason currently sits third in the wingless standings and Cody runs fifth after the night of engine problems. The team is scheduled for another event in Chico this coming Friday and Cody is working hard on the car hoping to have it ready by this weekend. |

| It sounds like it wasn't the engine that had the problem on Friday night, rather it was the fuel pump. |
