World of Outlaws Return to Cedar Lake Speedway

The World of Outlaws will return to Cedar Lake Speedway in Wisconsin on Sunday, July 1, for the first time since 2005. The state-of-the-art high-banked 3/8-mile has hosted 25 A-Feature events for the World of Outlaws dating back to 1983.
 
Five current series drivers have won at the track including Brooke Tatnell who was victorious in the series last visit in 2005. Since the inaugural event at the track over 20 years ago, 10 different drivers have earned an A-Feature win with the series at Cedar Lake Speedway.
 
Donny Schatz sits on top of the World of Outlaws championship standings heading into the event. He began the weekend with eight A-Feature wins and finished third in the opener of the Duel in the Dakotas at River Cities Speedway in his home state of North Dakota on Friday night. In his last visit to Cedar Lake Speedway, he finished fourth. In the 37 events that have been contested this season heading into action on June 30, Schatz has 34 Top-10 finishes as he continues to chase his second consecutive title.
 
Joey Saldana earned his eighth A-Feature win of the season on Friday night at River Cities Speedway. The native of Brownsburg, Indiana led all 40 laps and held off a furious charge by Schatz and Jac Haudenschild over the last five laps of the event. In his last visit to Cedar Lake Speedway in 2005, Saldana finished sixth. He has 34 Top-10 finishes on the season and is less than 100 points behind Schatz in the standings.
 
Danny Lasoski won in 1999 at Cedar Lake Speedway. The 2001 World of Outlaws champion competed at the track last season, finishing just outside the Top-10. He was fourth in the opener of the Duel in the Dakotas, bringing his season total of Top-10 finishes to 28, including four in a row. The native of Dover, Missouri has three A-Feature wins on the season and is solidly in the third position in points.
 
Daryn Pittman last competed at the 3/8-mile in 2005. He enters action on June 30, fourth in points on the strength of three A-Feature wins. He earned his 26th Top-10 finish of the season on Friday night, when he finished sixth. His win last week at Dodge City Raceway Park came on a 3/8-mile, which is the same size of Cedar Lake Speedway.
 
Jason Meyers finished second at Cedar Lake last season after earning the pole position for the event. The native of Clovis, California currently is fifth in the championships standings. He has three A-Feature wins on the season, to go along with 26 Top-10 finishes.
 
Steve Kinser has five wins with the World of Outlaws at the high-banked 3/8-mile. His first victory came in the series inaugural visit to the track in 1993 and his most recent trip to the winner’s circle at the track was in 2003. He enters competition on June 30 with seven A-Feature wins, which is second-best in the series.
 
Craig Dollansky has raced at Cedar Lake Speedway a number of times in his career. He finished just outside the Top-10 in his last visit in 2005 with the World of Outlaws. The native of Elk River, Minnesota has one A-Feature win this season along with 24 Top-10 finishes, as he is solidly in the Top-10 in points.
 
Paul McMahan finished third last season at Cedar Lake Speedway after starting 10th. Driving for NASCAR champion Tony Stewart, McMahan has one win on the season, as well as 17 Top-10 finishes and is eighth in points.
 
Jason Solwold finished fifth at the Wisconsin track last season. He earned his 21st Top-10 finish of the season on Friday night in the opener of the Duel in the Dakotas. He is currently ninth in points entering action on June 30.
 
Tim Shaffer last competed at Cedar Lake Speedway in 2005. He is 10th in points heading into action on June 30 with 17 Top-10 finishes. He has four runner-up finishes as he continues to close in on his first win of the season.
 
Jac Haudenschild is a former winner at the high-banked 3/8-mile. He was victorious in 1989. The native of Wooster, Ohio finished second on Friday night at River Cities Speedway charging from the 13th starting spot to finish just inches behind Joey Saldana at the finish line.
 
Terry McCarl is a former winner at Cedar Lake Speedway. In his last visit to the track in 2005 with the World of Outlaws, he finished fifth. The native of Altoona, Iowa won his first A-Feature event of the season on June 16 at Knoxville Raceway and has 18 Top-10 finishes.
 
Jason Sides charged to a fourth-place finish at the track last season after lining up 13th. The native of Barlett, Tennessee has 11 Top-10 finishes this season, with four of those being in the Top-Five.
 
Kerry Madsen earned a Top-10 finish at Cedar Lake Speedway last season, as he finished seventh. He is the current leader in the battle for the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award. He has two straight Top-10 finishes heading to the high-banked track, including a runner-up effort on Monday night at Black Hills Speedway.
 
Randy Hannagan has competed at the track a number of times in his career. Entering competition on June 30, he had four Top-10 finishes, including a season-best second-place run on June 16 at Knoxville Raceway.
 
Justin Henderson is a former winner at Cedar Lake Speedway, as he won the Jerry Richert Memorial at the track in 2005. He has seven Top-10 finishes on the season heading into the finale of the Duel in the Dakotas on June 30.
 
Chad Kemenah will make his first visit to Cedar Lake Speedway on Sunday night. The reigning Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year has seven Top-10 finishes on the season.
 
Chad Hillier continues his rookie season with the World of Outlaws and will make his first visit to the 3/8-mile as well on Sunday night. The native of Burlington, Washington is solidly in the Top-20 in championship points.
 
Zach Chappell moved into the 19th spot in points after a solid run on Friday night at River Cities Speedway. The native of Talala, Oklahoma will continue his rookie season on Sunday with his first trip to Cedar Lake.
 
Jeremy Campbell begins competition on June 30 in the Top-20 in points. He has three Top-10 finishes on the season, including a season-best fourth-place finish at Tri-State (Ind.) Speedway in Indiana in April.
 
Also in action on Sunday night will be: Brooke Tatnell who always runs strong at Cedar Lake, including his win in 2005, second-year driver Jason Martin of Kansas who will make his debut at the track, veteran Dion Hindi of New Mexico and Brian Carlson of Indiana.
 
Other rookie contenders that will be in action include Tony Bruce Jr. of Kansas and Sam Hafertepe Jr. of Texas.
