Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series At a Glance: Cactus Classic at Manzanita Speedway Concord, NC- February 25, 2008--By: Tony Veneziano, World of Outlaws PR Director

WHAT * The Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series makes a stop at the famed Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, Arizona for the Cactus Classic this Saturday, March 1. In 2007 the series competed twice at the half-mile, with two-time defending series champion Donny Schatz and 2001 titlist Danny Lasoski picking up wins. The Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series first competed at the track located at the corner of 35th & Broadway in their inaugural season of 1978. Ten different drivers have since won at the facility, led by 20-time series champion Steve Kinser, who has nine victories at the half-mile. Five drivers that have won an A-Feature event with the series at Manzanita Speedway will be in action on March 1. WHEN * On Saturday, March 1, the Pit Gates will open 2 p.m. MST, while the Grandstand Gates will open at 4 p.m. MST and Hot Laps are tentatively set for 6:30 p.m. MST.



WHERE * Manzanita Speedway is located in Phoenix, Arizona. Take I-10 to exit 141 and go four miles south on 35th Avenue to West Broadway.

TICKETS * On Saturday, March 1, Reserved tickets in the main grandstand, sections A-D will be $35 for adults and $15 for children 12-under. Reserved tickets in the bleachers in sections AA-DD will be $32 for adults and $15 for children 12-under. General Admission tickets in the turn one and turn four grandstands will be $30 for adults with children ages 6-12 just $12 and kids 5-under will be admitted free of charge.

ABOUT THE TRACK * Manzanita Speedway is a half-mile semi-banked oval. Kerry Madsen established the track record of 15.255 seconds in time trials on March 3, 2007.
