Concord, NC—October 21, 2007--By: Tony Veneziano, World of Outlaws PR Director The World of Outlaws have competed a total of 15 times at The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway dating back to 2000. For each of the next 15 days leading up to the inaugural Outlaws World Finals, each of those 15 events will be recounted, culminating with the opening night of inaugural Outlaws World Finals on November 1 at The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway. Today will focus on the fifth of those 15 events that was contested on May 25, 2001. Danny Lasoski took the lead from Daryn Pittman on the second lap of the event and would go on to lead the final circuits to win the preliminary feature. He also took the series championship point lead that night, which eventually resulted in the 2001 World of Outlaws championship for the native of Dover, Missouri. Steve Kinser finished second in the event, with Daryn Pittman fifth, Donny Schatz sixth, Tim Shaffer seventh and Paul McMahan ninth. Other current World of Outlaws drivers that competed in the event included: Jason Meyers, Joey Saldana, Jason Sides, Randy Hannagan, Craig Dollansky and Jeremy Campbell. Donny Schatz was the quickest of the 38 cars that turned a lap in time trials. The inaugural Outlaws World Finals featuring the World of Outlaws and the World of Outlaws Late Model Series are set for November 1-3, with the finale of the event set to be broadcast LIVE on SPEED on November 3 from 8-11 p.m. Eastern.
