WATERVILLE, OH (October 16 , 2007)- Matt Miller driving the Murrell Mixon Motorsports Team car competed at Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, GA this past weekend. Matt competed in the Southern All Stars East sanctioned events on Friday and the O'Reilly Southern All Stars sanctioned event on Saturday. On Friday Matt driving the red and black #7 would qualify 4th fastest for the twin 20-lap feature events in the M&M Motorsports Mastersbilt Chassis powered by a Custom Race Engine. In the first 20-lap feature matt would be running in the 3rd position before pitting for a right front brake locking up. Matt would return to finish 11th. In the second 20-lap feature Matt would start 11th and immediately show how strong his Mastersbilt Chassis would be. Matt advanced into the second position and was on the rear bumper of eventually race winner Ivendent Lloyd before retiring with mechanic problems.
On Saturday Matt and the M&M Team would qualify 4th again and finish 2nd in his heat race to earn a 4th starting position for the 60-lap $10,000 to win feature event. Matt would fall back to 5th on the start but found his line around the 4/10ths mile clay track and moved into 2nd place by lap 25 after passing Billy Moyer, Randall Chupp and Chris Madden. On lap 27 Matt would muscle his way pass leader Earl Pearson Jr. and would pull away and lead the final 33 laps to win his first ever O'Reilly Southern All Stars sanctioned event. The win was worth $10,000 for Matt and the M&M Motorsports Team.
"First I have to thank Murrell Mixon for giving me the opportunity to drive his car this weekend. Murrell is a super nice guy and has top notch equipment. I also want to thank Ronnie Blair and the guys at Southeast Motorsports for crewing for me this weekend. I had a lot of fun and look forward to coming back to Brunswick, GA next week and drive for the M&M Motorsports Team at the "Show Down on The Coast". To have a good enough car to pass Moyer, Madden and Pearson in the same event was awesome. Those guys are some of best drivers in the country", stated Matt.
Matt will return to his ride in the Larry Moring Motorsports car this weekend at the $50,000 to win Dirt Track World Championship at KC Raceway in Wavery, OH. The 27th annual DTWC event will attract over 100 cars from all across the country and Matt is excited to be racing back in his home state. "Were excited about competing at the DTWC this weekend. Larry and the guys have been busy preparing the cars for this mega event and we should be in great shape to contend for the win. We've had and up and down season driving part time for Larry Moring Motorsports this year but we feel we have got that program turned in the right direction. We'll be driving Larry's cars in several more events in 2007 and hopefully again in 2008", stated Matt.
