Concord, NC—October 3, 2007--By: Tony Veneziano, World of Outlaws PR Director

After winning the National Open at Williams Grove Speedway for the fourth time in his career last Saturday night, Donny Schatz regained the top position in the National Speed Sport News Power Rankings this week.

The reigning World of Outlaws champion has 17 A-Feature wins this season aboard the ParkerStore J&J along with 64 Top-10 finishes in 69 A-Feature events. In three events last week, the native of Fargo, North Dakota finished first, second and fourth.

"You never know that you are going to win anything, but I have said it a million times that every time I come here I feel like I know where I can go," said Schatz in Victory Lane, after winning the National Open, to tie 20-time World of Outlaws champion Steve Kinser as the only drivers with four wins in the 45 year history of the event. "The fourth time is just as special as the first."

Schatz is the only driver that has been among the Top-10 in the NSSN Power Rankings every week this season, and since he made his first appearance in the Power Rankings in June of 2006, he has been in the Top-10 every week since.

Joey Saldana is 10th in the Power Rankings this week, after two Top-10 finishes last week, giving the World of Outlaws two drivers in the Top-10. The native of Brownsburg, Indiana has 60 Top-10 finishes on the season driving the Open Joist JEI for Kasey Kahne Racing, and also has set quick time in time trials on 11 occasions to lead the series.

Schatz leads Saldana by 90 points in the World of Outlaws championship standings with seven events remaining on the 2007 calendar, culminating with the inaugural Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway, in Concord, North Carolina, November 1-3, with the finale being broadcast LIVE on SPEED from 8-11 p.m. Eastern on November 3.

The World of Outlaws return to action on October 5-6 with the PolyDome Princeton Nationals at Princeton Speedway in Minnesota. In six career starts at the high-banked ¼-mile, Schatz has finished in the Top-10 each time in his familiar yellow No. 15 J&J Chassis, with Shaver power.
