World of Outlaws Championship Points Through September 28

Mechanicsburg, PA—Sept. 29, 2007--By: Tony Veneziano, World of Outlaws PR Director
 
After charging from the 21st starting position to finish fourth on Friday night in the opener of the National Open at Williams Grove Speedway, Donny Schatz extended his lead in the World of Outlaws championship standings to 76 points over Joey Saldana, with eight full points paying events remaining on the schedule.
 
Danny Lasoski remains third, with Daryn Pittman fourth and Jason Meyers fifth. Steve Kinser is sixth in points, with the drivers third through sixth separated by just 81 markers.
 
The rest of the Top-10 is Craig Dollansky in seventh, Paul McMahan in eighth, Jason Solwold in ninth and Tim Shaffer in 10th.
 
Kerry Madsen who finished third in Friday night's preliminary feature continues to hold a commanding lead in the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award standings.
 
The finale of the National Open as Williams Grove Speedway is set tonight, with the winner again receiving $50,000 this season. The Top-four finishers from Friday night's preliminary feature will be locked into the first four positions in time trials on Saturday night. With heat races to be lined up heads-up by time, Friday night's winner Chad Layton will start on the pole of the first heat, with second-place finisher T.J. Stutts on the pole of the second heat, third-place finisher Kerry Madsen will be on the pole of the third heat and fourth-place finisher Schatz will start on the pole of the fourth heat.
 
Both night of racing will be taped for broadcast on SPEED.
