Mario Marietta had a busy weekend
Press Release Submitted by Sprint-Midget on 09/20/2007 at 9:03 AM Send To Friend | Report Press Release

Mario Marietta of Clinton, IN returned to racing for the second weekend in a row for the crate late model series on Friday in Liberty, IN and then switching gears to the USAC (United States Auto Club) National Midget Series at "The Fastest High Banked Quarter Mile Oval," in Anderson, IN.

Liberty, IN – Coming into tonight's race, Mario has only sixteen laps under his feet. So, tonight is still a learning curve to the rest of his career. Mario adapted to the track well with a third place finish in his heat race. The start of the feature Mario made his way to third position when two cars tangled in front of him and sent Mario into the wall with a flat right front. Mario will be racing in one more race with the series, until making it a full time deal in 2008 when his racing schedule allows.

"I thought the night went real well considering my experience in the late model. I'm very excited to get back in the seat and hopefully get a win soon."

Anderson, IN – Mario started off sixth fastest in practice. His First Financial Midget was on the move, but he had to qualify into the stellar field of 42 cars, only taking 22 cars. Mario's qualifying time will make him start outside front row in his heat race. Mario came through the field for the win and finishing fourteenth in the feature.

"I think this is a start of great things to come for this team, considering this team was formed a month ago."

Mario's upcoming race will be held at Berlin Speedway on September 29th in Michigan. Mario anticipates full participation in the USAC National and Regional Series for the rest of 2007 and in 2008. Also, some Indy Pro Series, full details are in the works.

Mario is seeking sponsorship support to compete the entire 2008 season. Please visit his web site at www.mariomarietta.com

Thank-you to all of his fans and sponsors for a great year so far and we can't wait to start the 2008 series.
