advantage of this opportunity to bring the kids out to the racetrack and make
it a night to remember. As STARS heads
into its fourth consecutive Saturday night of racing, there have been several
moments on each race night that have made it a night to remember for those who
were there; expect this weekend to be no different.
Avon, Indiana’s
Austin Prock, who finished first and fourth respectively in the two midget
features during last weekend’s Carter/Anderson Classic, was able to extend his
point lead as a result of his consistent finishes. The 18-year-old Prock maintains a
stranglehold on the STARS National Midgets point standings with a commanding
74-point advantage over second place Brad Greenup.Greenup, the 22-year-old Channahon, Illinois
native, was able to move into the second spot in the season standings with a
season-best second place finish in the first feature last week.
Twenty-two
year old Tyler Trainor, from Streator, Illinois, recorded a solid second place
finish in the second feature last Saturday night and moved into the number
three slot in the standings.By virtue
of a splendid night in which he won his heat race and had finishes of fourth
and fifth in each of the features, Channahon, Illinois’ Billy Hulbert jumped up
to fourth place in the points.Ryan
Probst of New Lenox, Illinois, has earned three consecutive top-10 finishes to
start the season and currently rounds out the top five in the STARS National
Midget point standings.Rounding out the
top ten in the point standings are Jimmy Anderson, Kyle Kettmann, last week’s
second feature winner Travis Young, Nick Baran, and Terry Ahern.
