Broken Arrow, Oklahoma | February 18, 2014 – As racing season etches closer the client list at WRP continues to grow with Alex Sewell hopping on board to make it 18 #TeamWRP members. Sewell, a 19 year old native of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma has been racing for eight years across the Midwest in micros, midgets and sprint cars. After he started running restricted micros back in 2006, Sewell has only grown and got better since. He would go onto run micros for five years while winning big races like the Pete Frazier Memorial, and then make the big jump into sprint cars during the 2011 season. In 2012 he ran with the Oil Capital Racing Series (OCRS) where he earned an impressive 5th place finish in points and claimed rookie of the year honors. A victor of the Spring Nationals at Meeker and a two-barrel sprint car winner at Creek County Speedway are a slim few of the accomplishments he has racked up. Sewell once again had a breakthrough in the sprint car during the 2013 season when he ran 8th in ASCS Sooner Region points and 10th in OCRS points. From winning at his local micro track to running with the big dogs of ASCS, Sewell has quickly learned to adapt to tracks, cars, and his surroundings to make him a better driver. Just recently Sewell had an incredible drive at the Chili Bowl while running 2nd on his prelim night before the motor would let go and halt the great run. In 2014 Sewell will look to take on double duty while running for points with both the ASCS Sooner Region and POWRi West series. Shows with the ASCS National Tour will be squeezed in throughout the year to get as much racing as possible in.
