Washed Out 3rd Annual Bill Hendren Memorial Set to Conclude September 5th

(Lawndale, North Carolina) – The 1st leg of the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division kicked off at the ½ mile track nicknamed “Thunder Valley” – Cleveland County Speedway to kick off the 10th Annual “Decade of Speed” $85K PRO Late Model Nationals. The event entitled the 3rd Annual Bill Hendren Memorial had 30 Warlords sign in to battle on a Mid-Week show in front of a capacity crowd. However we’ll have to wait until next Thursday September 5th to decide the conclusion of the event with the B-mains, 40 lap feature to decide who will win the 3rd edition of the Bill Hendren Memorial.



In VP Race for the Pole Group Qualifying #11 David Smith from Inman, South Carolina in his TNT Chassis was the quick man with an 18.124 second lap. Then for the $2,000 to win feature all drivers had to heat race their way in to the show with 4 - 6 lap heat s taking the Top 5 to the 40 Lap Feature. The following are the Heat winners Heat 1 #88 Trent Ivey, Heat 2 #99 Teddy Tate, Heat 3 #20 Owen Osteen and Heat 4 went to #44 Brandon Umberger.



During the process of local classes running the effects of Mother Nature started to make her presence felt with a light mist falling and heat lighting flashing in the humid summer August night. The FASTRAK Series Director Travis Scott quickly then put the show in quick mode urgently getting B-Main competitors to the lanes and having the 20 drivers locked in to follow.

However with the fierce efforts to get it in it wasn’t meant to be as heat lighting turned into a thunderstorm and torrential down pour losing the track. The FASTRAK Founder Stan Lester and Steve Hendren quickly we’re in agreement to continue the show next Thursday September 5th. Any new entries will tail the back of the B-Mains and the 20 Car Field for the A-Mains is locked in. This is the 13th event of 2013 effecting FASTRAK Companies International events with weather related issues.
