Marion Center Speedway Hyped for the First Time Visit July 27th by the FASTRAK Sweeney Cars Northeast Touring Division

(Carnesville, Georgia) – The ¼ mile Marion Center Speedway jumped on board with the FASTRAK Weekly racing program for the first time in 2013. The legendary facility, which was opened in 1966 by Dave Potts and is still run by his family today, provides a smooth racing surface every Saturday night from April until September. The response has been tremendous since the drop of the 1st green flag having FASTRAK on the weekly program. There has been an average between 15-20+ FASTRAK Pro Late Models on a weekly basis. Now the staff at Marion Center Speedway is ready to up the ante even more on Saturday night July 27th. They are excited to be hosting the 2nd leg of the Inaugural FASTRAK Northeast “Summer Sizzler Triple Crown”.

The race on July 27th will be the first ever visit by the FASTRAK Sweeney Cars Northeast Touring Division. The feature will pay $2,000 to the winner who can tame the ¼ mile bullring at nights end. There is a lot of touring regulars who have took the opportunity the last few week “shaking” their cars down to prepare for this event. Weekly stars from the Marion Center Speedway are also ready to see what they can do going up against the FASTRAK Northeast touring regulars on their “home turf”. This event is again part of the Inaugural 3 race mini-series entitled the “Summer Sizzler Triple Crown” which is a first for the Drivers, Teams and Fans of the FASTRAK Universe in the Northeast. FASTRAK is really looking forward to this 1st time ever race visit to Marion Center Speedway and hope it’s just the “tip of the iceberg” for having great races there at the ¼ mile.

The 1/4 mile dirt track oval is located on the top of a hill, just off PA route 119, 3 miles north of Marion Center and 10 miles south of Punxsutawney at 484 Potts Road, Marion Center, PA 15759. The track was built in the fall of 1965 with the first races in the summer of 1966. The business has been owned and operated by the Potts family (Dave, June, Rich, and Janet) ever since.
