Shoemaker Set for Tom Knowles Memorial

Bloomington, IL. - Tyler will strap on the wing for this Saturday's Tom Knowles Memorial Sprint Car race at Spoon River Speedway in Canton, IL. Tyler's only wing start of the year came at the IRA Kankakee race back in June. "We had a lot of fun. We had a fuel problem in qualifying which really killed our night, but we had a very fast race car, said Tyler, the 22 year old from Illinois."

Tyler has been running an asphalt midget for Dale Ballinger with UMARA/USAC the past few weeks, along with splitting time in his sprint car. "The midget deal was a great opportunity to be get on asphalt. I just have to thank Dale for the opportunity. We had a few bad weeks recently, with popping a head gasket in the Mopar and troubles getting the other car to run. I am ready to get back in the sprint car and get after it."

This will mark Tyler's first time to Canton. "I am really looking forward to running there. I know in hot laps it's flat to the floor. Depending how cold it gets this week the track may be pretty decent throughout the night. I have seen the race won on the top and bottom so we will just have to wait and see, said Tyler"

Spoon River Speedway is located just off Route 24, 7 miles West Of Banner on Speedway Road.Don’t forget to sign up for Tyler's Corner (Newsletter) in the fan Zone! For More information on Tyler, visit www.tylershoemakerracing.com
