FASTRAK’s 2nd Annual Charlie Mize Memorial/Shrine Race this Friday July 5th, Rain Date Set for Saturday July 6th, $12K Race Purse plus Bonuses and Spectacular Fireworks Show on the Card

(Carnesville, Georgia) – FASTRAK Companies International dignitaries and the management Lavonia Speedway are delighted to inform everyone that a RAIN DATE has been set for the 2nd Annual Charlie Mize Memorial/ Shriner Race. This is just in case inclement weather comes in to mess up Friday’s plan. The race event will try to be run with every effort possible on Friday July 5th. However if we cannot get it the event in it will be rescheduled on Saturday July 6th. Again every effort will be made within our control possible to get the races in at Lavonia Speedway & Entertainment Complex this weekend. We encourage all FASTRAK Pro Late Model Drivers, Teams and Fans young and mature to head out to the 3/8th mile “speed-plant” just a short drive off I-85 on Lavonia Highway.





The 2nd Annual Charlie Mize Memorial Shriners 40 Race event which includes a $12,000 purse will be paying a nice $2,000 to the top driver at Lavonia Speedway and Entertainment Complex. Also Chris Knight and the fine staff from City Chevrolet in Charlotte, North Carolina are stepping up offering great bonuses and awards also. We are also honored to have City Chevrolet as the proud sponsor of the sanctioning body for the Southeast/Mideast division for the FASTRAK Racing Series and have stood behind FASTRAK since its inception in some shape or form.




It’s going to be special for many reasons including a spectacular FIREWORKS DISPLAY to close the night. This will be the best place to see FIREWORKS in this part of Georgia for the Independence Day weekend celebration. The race this 4th of July weekend will also be a Shriner Benefit Race supporting the Lavonia area which helps raise money and takes donations through fundraisers and charity events to help families and children with health needs and finances also.




The 2nd Annual memorial race in conclusion is to truly acknowledge a highly respected and great pioneer to the dirt racing community - Charlie Mize. Mize did it all from promoting, managing, racing, flagging and even announcing all over the Southeast. Everyone that knew him says he was a down to earth person who would help anybody personal or on the track in any way he could which people treasure mostly about him.




Lavonia Speedway & Entertainment Complex is a fast, 3/8 mile semi-banked clay oval located in Lavonia, Georgia. The storied speed plant commenced operation in 1971 and serves as a weekly facility, running on Friday nights from March into October. They will also be hosting the World of Outlaws Late Model Series for a $10,000 to win event on Tuesday November 5th.




Lavonia Speedway is a family-oriented facility that offers family-friendly pricing. Regular program general admission is just only $9. We also offer a souvenir shop, full-service concession stand, and permanent front stretch restrooms. Track side parking is now available at $15.
