Speedway Ready for the 2nd Annual Charlie Mize Memorial Shrine Race
with $12,000 Purse up Next for the FASTRAK Southeast this Friday July
5th

(Carnesville, Georgia) – The 2013 FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring
Division in the Southeast/Mideast region has had an impressive, exciting
and very competitive 2013 so far. There have been a total of seven
different winners in the seven races ran. In addition to that there have
been also three 1st time FASTRAK Touring winners. The 2013 “Decade of
Speed” Tour now prepares to embark once again to the 3/8th mile Lavonia
Speedway & Entertainment Complex in Georgia. Friday July 5th join us
for a great racing event to pay respects to a true pioneer in the
racing community and also to help raise funds for the Shriners and
possible future racers of America.
The 2nd Annual Charlie Mize
Memorial Shriners 40 Race event with a $12,000 purse and paying a
$2,000 to the top driver in P1 will be on the line July 5th at Lavonia
Speedway and Entertainment Complex. It will be special for many reasons
including a spectacular FIREWORKS DISPLAY to close the night. This will
be the best place to see the pyrotechnics show in this part of Georgia
Friday night for Independence Day celebration. We will be having this
event as a fundraiser for the Shriners in the Lavonia area which helps
raise money and takes donations through fundraisers and charity events
to help families and children with health needs and finances also.
The event is also the 2nd Annual memorial race to truly a highly
respected and great pioneer to the dirt racing community - Charlie Mize.
Mize did it all from promoting, managing, racing, flagging and even
announcing all over the Southeast. Everyone that knew him says he was a
down to earth person who would help anybody personal or on the track in
any way he could which people treasure mostly about him.
Lavonia Speedway & Entertainment Complex is a fast, 3/8 mile
semi-banked clay oval located in Lavonia, Georgia. The storied speed
plant commenced operation in 1971 and serves as a weekly facility,
running on Friday nights from March into October. They will also be
hosting the World of Outlaws Late Model Series for a $10,000 to win
event on Tuesday November 5th.
Lavonia Speedway is a
family-oriented facility that offers family-friendly pricing. Regular
program general admission is just only $9. We also offer a souvenir
shop, full-service concession stand, and permanent front stretch
restrooms. Track side parking is now available at $15. Take advantage
