(Four Oaks, North Carolina) – The “Fastest 3/8th Mile Dirt Track in the South” is located in Prosperity, West Virginia and that’s the one and only Beckley Motorsports Park. They had a spectacular 2012 racing season ending it with a “bang” being the 1st ever host facility for the Quarter Million Dollar FASTRAK World Championship. The inaugural event drew 186 entries in 2 days with some of the best racing ever witnessed by the packed house in attendance. Track promoters Joe and Billie Jo Jackson have already threw down the “gauntlet” stating they want the FASTRAK World Championship II to be back at the 3/8th mile dirt facility nestled off I-77.

The “2013 Summer of Speed” is now set to get underway this Friday night April 26th. This will be the first race of the season after Mother Nature postponed last Friday’s event entitled the “SPRING THAW”. The weather forecast this Friday is supposed to be Sunny skies in the 70’s during the day and clear skies and temperatures in the 40’s at night. The race will feature the always exciting FASTRAK (crates) Pro Late Models as part of the weekly program. The quest for the 2013 World Championship starts Friday as the FASTRAK members lock in the 15 races needed to be a part of the “Biggest Single Weekend Grass Roots Payout in the Country”. Also the Beckley Motorsports Park will feature AMRA Super Late Models and Open Wheel Modified, Outlaw Streets, Street Stocks and Hornets on a weekly basis.

There are some very big events on tap along with the weekly shows for the Beckley Motorsports Park beginning this Friday night with the “2013 SPRING THAW”. May 10th it’s the return of the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division celebrating the “2013 Decade of Speed Tour”. They’ll be back for the first time since the successful FASTRAK World Championship. It’s also going to be the tribute race of “Big” Mike Faykus who passed away sadly Sunday October 2012 after the World Championship. The “Mike Faykus Memorial” will pay $2,000 to win. On Friday night May 17th NASCAR/SPEED TV Personality and Open Wheel Modified Star from St. Louis, Missouri Kenny Wallace will be at Beckley Motorsports Park. The last time he was at the 3/8th mile track he put his #36 JEG’s/UNOH machine in Victory Lane. Can he do it again?? Find out May 17th. Then finally on June 14th and 15th the “sister series” of the FASTRAK Racing Series the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series will bring in the “Premier Touring Series of the Southeast” for the first time ever to Beckley Motorsports Park for the 2nd Annual “Black Gold 50” paying $10,000 to win. The event also is the track’s way to show tribute to the active or fallen Coal Miners, which is the most active job for people in the “Wild and Wonderful” State.

The 2013 Summer of Speed season is finally here. Weather again looks great for opening weekend this Friday. The next stop on the road through the 2013 FASTRAK “Decade of Speed Tour” will be a Double Header weekend in West Virginia as well coming up on Friday and Saturday May 10th and 11th. Friday night May 10th we battle it out again at Beckley Motorsports Park in Prosperity, West Virginia for a $2,000 to win FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division race. This is the first stop back in 2013 at Beckley after the successful 2012 FASTRAK $250,000 World Championships, which drew 186 entrants in the weekend spectacular. Then Saturday night May 11th we will return to the West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells, West Virginia for the first time since being a part of the 30th Annual Dirt Track World Championships in 2010. This will be a FASTRAK National Event paying $5,000 to the winner.
