Pennsylvania’s Marion Center Speedway Joins Roll Call for FASTRAK Sanctioning in 2013!!

(Four Oaks, North Carolina) – With racing season approaching quickly the FASTRAK Companies International corporate office is excited to add another track to the list of FASTRAK sanctioned tracks for 2013. We’re happy to announce the ¼ mile Marion Center Speedway in the “Liberty State” will be sanctioned. The legendary facility, which was opened in 1966 by Dave Potts and is still run by his family, provides a smooth glass like surface every Saturday night from April until September.



With the addition of Marion Center, there will now be a two night circuit for the drivers of the area as nearby track Dog Hollow Speedway which is also FASTRAK’s First Ever Northeast Sanctioned Track, which is a charter FASTRAK member races on Friday night. Now with both track only 40 minutes’ away from each other, should give the fans of Indiana County countless action on weekends this summer.



“Many of our talented drivers with FASTRAK are from the Indiana County area”, states Northeast series announcer Jim Balentine. “Jim Michny at Dog Hollow has been a supporter since day one and now with the Potts family on board with Marion Center, both tracks should benefit with the talent that is out there! Plus drivers won’t have to travel as far for their championship points with both tracks being so close so it’s a win-win for everyone!”



Marion Center Speedway begins its 47th Anniversary on Saturday night May 4th. The gates and concession stands open an hour and a half before the racing begins at 7:30pm. A complete racing card for a night's program consists of 7 divisions competing.



The 1/4 mile dirt track oval is located on the top of a hill, just off PA route 119, 3 miles north of Marion Center and 10 miles south of Punxsutawney at 484 Potts Road, Marion Center, PA 15759. The track was built in the fall of 1965 with the first races in the summer of 1966. The business has been owned and operated by the Potts family (Dave, June, Rich, and Janet) ever since.
