Bill Balog and B2 Motorsports: 3 for 3 with the Interstate Racing Association
Press Release Submitted by StanM on 05/24/2012 at 6:51 PM Send To Friend | Report Press Release

Union Grove, WI – May 22, 2012. Bill Balog and the B2 Motorsports Team headed up State Highway 41 and across State Highway 33 to the 1/3 mile, high banked oval of the Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, WI this past Saturday for the 3rd event on the schedule for the Interstate Racing Association. The team was greeted with sunny skies and windy conditions which would make the track very abrasive throughout the night. The boys missed the setup a little bit in qualifying as Bill would only lay down a lap of 14.416 seconds which was only good for 12th quick of the 28 cars on hand. The team went back to work after the disappointing qualifying effort to make sure to be in contention to win the heat race to get back into the invert for the feature. Bill would start in the 3rd starting position in the 3rd heat race and at the drop of the green he immediately moved up into the lead and ran away with the heat race win ahead of Jim Moughan and Ricky Logan putting him back in the feature invert. A #2 pill was drawn for feature which would line Bill up in the 6th starting position behind the 5 – tough contenders of Scotty Neitzel, Tommy Sexton, Mike Kertscher, and Mike Reinke. Bill would methodically make his way forward and into the lead on lap 14 when Kertscher got hung up by a lap car. On the next lap Bill would tangle with the lap car of Scott Young going into turn 3. Bill would bounce through the air a couple times, but land on all 4 – wheels and drive away to stay out front when the caution flew. The remaining 16 laps went green to checkered as Bill would cruise to his third consecutive IRA win of the young 2012 season by more than a straightaway in front of Mike Kertscher and Mike Reinke.

Bill now holds a 40 point advantage over Mike Reinke in the IRA point standings as this weekend they will compete in the first double header of the year at 2 – tracks that the IRA has already visited this season. Saturday, May 26th the sprints will return to the 1/3 mile track of Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, WI for the Daun/Winker Memorial and then on Sunday, May 26th the tour will head north on Interstate 43 to the 1/3 mile, high banked facility of 141 Speedway which is just north of Francis Creek, WI. Bill picked up victories at both of these tracks earlier in the year and has won the last 3 – features contested at the 141 Speedway.

The following week will be a triple header as the team will travel to the ½ mile facility of the Jackson Speedway in Jackson, MN for the Biggame Treestands Shootout on Friday, June 1st. On Saturday, June 2nd, the team will travel up to the Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, WI for the “Triple Crown”. Then on Sunday, June 3rd, the team will wrap up the weekend at the Eagle Valley Speedway in Jim Falls, WI. Bill and the B2 Motorsports team had success at 2 of the 3 tracks last year as he picked up feature wins at both Cedar Lake Speedway and Eagle Valley Speedway.

Bill and the B2 Motorsports Team would also like to thank our continued supporters/sponsors including: Buesser Concrete, Hoeft Builders, Maxim Chassis, Hepfner Racing Products, Keizer Aluminum Wheels, K&N Filters, Gleason Equipment, FK Rod Ends, Auto Meter, Saldana Racing Products, Astro Titanium, DMI, Fibrestar Industries, Super Shox, Stumble Inn Bar and Grill, Xtreme Stainless, Allstar Performance, Competition Driveline Service, BLZ, XYZ Machining, Outerwears, and Racer Gear X.
