So come along and join Logan in “The Shark Tank!” Tuesday July 12th- Lincoln Speedway Beautiful weather greeted Logan Schuchart, as well as everyone else attending Lincoln Speedway Tuesday July 12th, for the Race Of Champions Modifieds and the 360/358 sprint challenge. 29 sprint cars were in the pit area on this evening, with some big names in the field such as eventual winner Aaron Ott, Lance Dewease, Pat Cannon, Mark Smith, and Curt Michael. Logan started deep in the pack for the second heat race. He would charge all the way up to second place, and finish there behind Lance Dewease. Logan would start fifth in the nights 25 lap feature event. Logan would stay in the top five by taking the checkers in fourth behind Aaron Ott, Lance Dewease, and Pat cannon. He was also the top finishing car using a 358 motor. Curt Michael would round out the top five. “We started fifth and ran fourth,” Logan comments. “The car was just too tight early on, and we ran too hard on the tires. The car got better by the end of the race but maybe we just ran out of time. The track was great and it was a lot of fun to race on.” Friday July 15th- Williams Grove Speedway At Williams Grove on Friday night, Logan started eleventh in the 358 sprint car feature. “Track conditions weren’t the greatest being that the 410s were on the bottom for time trials. Our feature was rubber down which meant everyone was using the bottom. Every pass on a track like that, pretty much has to come from starts.” Although the track did not have much passing, Logan was able to advance from his starting spot to finish eighth in the final rundown. Todd Reed was the feature winner over Nate Hammaker and Teddy Thomas. Saturday July 16th- Selinsgrove Speedway The 1s was on hand at Selinsgrove Speedway Saturday night. 27 358 sprint cars filled the pits, including the teams of Billy Dietrich, Pat Cannon, Blane Heimbach, Logan himself, and many other contenders. Logan finished second in a strong heat two, behind Brian Nornhold. Following Logan across the line to complete top five were Cannon, Heimbach, and Phil Walter. Logan started eighth in the heat race. Come feature time, Logan was slated to start tenth. He had advanced up to third spot by lap four, when there was a caution for Ryan Kissinger. On lap five, Logan took the lead while Blane Heimbach would follow him into second. With seven laps to go, Logan and Blane would cross the line side by side. Logan would eventually fight off Heimbach with about two to go, and pull always for the victory. Crossing the line behind Logan were Heimbach, Cannon, Mark Smith, and TJ Stutts. “The car felt great the whole night,” Logan stated. “We were fast in both the heat race and feature. I really enjoy running at Selinsgrove. I started tenth and tried the top the first couple of laps, but it didn’t feel so good, so I decided to move down to the bottom. The car just took off. I tried to stay patient and smooth and get as close to the inside wall as possible, so I could get the car to squirt off the bottom until the end.” The win was Logan’s fifth of the year in 358 competition, as well as his second of the season at the Snyder County half mile.SHARK WATCH: There is a shark watch for Trail Way Speedway this coming Friday, Selinsgrove Speedway this coming Saturday, and Lincoln Speedway on Sunday, as we there is a shark attack planned over the course of the weekend.
