Please join Tim Wagaman Racing and the Teddy Bear Toss for a fun night at Lincoln Speedway this Saturday, July 9th, 2011. We are partnering with this local charity which raises funds for pediatric cancers by asking all children and/or people attending the races that night to bring a (or a bunch of) stuffed animal for an annual Teddy Bear toss that takes place each December.
The Teddy Bear Toss is a fundraiser that Ms. Abbey Rhodes started after an encounter with a tumor in her chest the summer before her freshman year of high school. During that summer she was placed with the kids at Johns Hopkins that had cancer and while luckily her tumor turned out not to be cancerous, the children she met inspired her to begin this charity. Every year people attend a girl's basketball game at Hanover High School where people throw stuffed animals and donate money. The organization also sells "Pay it Forward" bracelets and places toilet seats in front yards in attempt to "Flush Out Cancer." If you live in or around Hanover you may have seen them!
We have chosen to partner with them during Kid's Night at Lincoln Speedway in an attempt to raise awareness about pediatric cancers and to show children that they can help other kids too! Please join us as we attempt to gather the largest number of donations for this event to date. Come out and join Tim Wagaman Racing as we work to show children that anyone can be a hero who helps fight cancer.
