This
past weekend we headed to Ogilvie, MN for a round of the UMSS 360
Championship in the PROTOFAB Engineering #14 sprint car. The night
started out with a win in heat one from the pole and followed this up
with a second place finish in the challenge race after starting on the
third row. The marble draw was kind to us after team boss John Nelson
pulled the inverted four marble for the A main which put us alongside
brother in-law Jerry Richert Jr on the second row. After one aborted
start Brooke took the lead going into turn one and lead comfortably for
the next fifteen laps before the caution came out with five to go. On
the restart Tatnell was challenged by Richert but with family pride on
the line more than anything Brooke sat up in the seat and drove around
the outside to take his fourth UMSS victory from five career starts.
This weekend will see the Golden Rocket back in action at
Knoxville, IA on Saturday night and we are currently trying to find
Brooke a 360 ride for Friday night at Chateau, MN. This Saturday night
will also see a tribute race to one of the sports nice guys the late
Loren Barstad held at I-90 Speedway. Loren was loved by many and was a
regular at Huset's Speedway. He was always there wearing a smile and
helping ANYONE in the pits. Put on a pair of suspenders and come out and
pay tribute to a guy who gave so much back to the sport and helped so
many drivers including Brooke and I know BT would love to support this
race.
On the behalf of Brooke Tatnell Racing we would like to
thank all of our partners that make it possible for us to go racing.
