Bill Balog & B Squared Motorsports: Another Top 5

8/18/10 – With all eyes on Knoxville Raceway & the Knoxville Nationals, Bill Balog & the B Squared decided to head to the Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, WI for a local 410 show. The team used the track time as a test session to prepare for the upcoming IRA shows at the facility. No qualifying is used Wilmot’s weekly show, so it was straight in to heat race action. Bill would take the green from the 7^th position. He wasted little time in working his way towards the front. By the half way point he had worked his way in to 1^st place. He would go on to open a sizeable lead & collect yet another heat race win. By virtue of passing the most cars in the heat, Bill would be relegated to an 8^th place starting spot in the feature. He knew he had his worked cut out for him if he wanted a top 5 finish. After taking the green flag, he fell in line as the car was just off a tick. As the race wore the track conditions changed enough & Bill was on the move towards the front. He was inside the top 5 by lap 10. On lap 14, the right rear tire went flat & Bill would stop to bring out a caution. The crew would get the tire change in time to rejoin the race at the tale end of the line up. Once again, Bill quickly went to work on getting his way back to the front. By the time the checkered flag flew on lap 25, Bill had worked his way to a 4^th place finish. This weekend the BLZ / Gaerte Engines 17B will be in action at the Wilmot Raceway, in Wilmot, WI on Friday & Saturday for a local 410 show & then for an IRA event.
