Friday Night Thunder, Faster Pastor at Sharon Speedway this week

HARTFORD, Ohio (August 11, 2010) – As points races heat up, Sharon Speedway brings you two hot nights of racing.

On Friday, August 13, Friday Night Thunder will continue its aggressive brand of racing with Mod Lites, Sportsman, Micro Sprints, 2 bbl E-Mods and Hobby Stocks.

Mod Lites have a tight points battle with Ken Meadows barely edging out Rick Ament and Alan Knepper, though Shane Pfeuffer and Lynn Knepper aren't far behind. In the 2 bbl E-Mods, Dwayne Clay leads over Rick Robinson, Calvin Clay and Bradley Blackshear.

Josh Walker has been the man to beat in Sportsman racing at Sharon Speedway, with five feature wins, but Steve Mix just broke his win streak. In Micro Sprint points, Craig Daniels has the advantage over Ryan Frederick and D.J. Ferney. Hobby Stock action has Stephen Walker beating Dan McEwen and Duane Westfall.

Tickets to Friday Night Thunder are $10. Parking and camping at Sharon Speedway are free.

On Saturday, August 14, Sharon Speedway will host the fan favorite Faster Pastor race, in addition to a $1,000-to-win E-Mod race. Also Saturday, Pro Stocks, Limited Sprints and Hobby Stocks will be in on the action.

August 14 will also be the end of Gibson Insurance Agency 410 Sprint points racing. Jack Sodeman Jr. is at the top of 410 Sprint points standings, ahead of Gale Ruth Jr. and Brent Matus.

Tickets for Saturday are $13 for adults, $5 for teens and children under 8 are free. Family passes are available for $32, which covers admission for two adults and up to four students. Fans who bring tickets from Friday Night Thunder on July 16 will receive $3 off general admission tickets on August 14.
