2009 IRA Champion, Bill Balog closed out the 2009 IRA season this past Saturday at the Sheboygan County Fair Park in Plymouth, WI. The night started off with Bill turning a lap time of 12.010 seconds in qualifying which was good for 14^th quick out of the 36 cars present.

Bill started 3^rd in heat race #3 and before one lap was complete, he was in the lead & would go on to pick up his 5^th heat win of the 2009 season. The B Squared Motorsports 17B lined up 8^th for the 27 lap “Frank Filskov Memorial”. At the start of the race, Bill fell back a few positions before beginning to make his moves towards the front. A red flag midway through the race, gave Bill the break he was looking for. On the ensuing restart, he quickly moved into the top 5. He wasn’t finished there as he continued to make forward progression until disaster struck on lap 22 just as he was passing for 2^nd. Two lapped cars came together entering turn 1 right in front of Bill, he had no where to go & spun to avoid making contact, relegating the 17B to the tail of the field. With 5 laps to go, Bill was able to gain a few spots and brought home a 16^th place finish.

Once the final points were tallied, Bill ended up winning the Championship by 267 points. This week the team is heading to the Morgan County Speedway in Jacksonville, IL on Friday & St. Francois County Speedway in Farmington, MO on Saturday.
